Need a Holley manifold for 13b
Engine swap - My friend Steve Roberts is well known to local rally enthusiasts. He was the man to beat back in the RX-2 and early RX-7 pro rally days, but dropped out when the all-wheel drive cars came to dominate the sport. Steve recently asked me what to do about getting a high performance 13b for his 79 RX-7, which has been running a street ported 12a for all these years - he bought it new in June 1978. My answer was "Buy the street ported engine that is sitting in my garage!" It has all the Racing Beat internal goodies, and was assembled for a project which I never went a head with. I also offered him one of my low mileage FB trannies. Well, Steve bought a RB aluminum flywheel, HD clutch and header, and we spent the last few days getting it installed and running, using an RX-4 carb which I had. Steve wants to install a Holley, which I have, and we need a manifold for it. Just thought I would ask before he orders one from RB - anyone have a 13b/Holley manifold?????
I thought you guys might like to see how I did the tranny shifter conversion. Most people just swap out the tranny tailshaft housing and use the early shifter, but Steve wanted the short throw of the later style. I built a plastic panel to replace the original one, as shown in the photos. The panels is made from 1/4 inch foam core ABS, and I formed a piece of wood to the shape of the original panel, clamped it in a vise, softened it with a heat gun and formed it to the shape of the original panel. Two of the screws have tabs attached which lock the panel in place.

I've got a RB Holley manifold for the four port 13B. How does $50 sound? You can also have the ratty Holly carb that came with it at no extra charge. It's at my condo in Redmond ready to go anytime.
