Neat Stuff to do Near Seattle???

Hey all, I'm going to be in the Seattle area from Thursday afternoon until Saturday morning sometime. If people could toss out a couple ideas of things to do while I'm there that would be great! I think I'm staying in Bellevue(??).

Thanks,
Brian

Depends what you like and if you want to spend money. If you like music history, I would suggest hitting up EMP (Experience Music Project) in the Seattle Center. If you're taking a lady friend with you, taking a ferry to one of the Islands is a good idea, if you have enough time the rain forest on the peninsula, uh...like to gamble? Tulalip Casino in Marysville (bout 35-40 miles north of bellvue). Like food? Lots of good resturants around at all price ranges. Or you could take a seaplane tour of Seattle, did that a couple months ago, was pretty cool.

Broadway up on Capitol hill is interesting if you're a people watcher. Underground tour, if you want to see what happened to old Seattle. The dinner train from Renton, that stops at St. Michelle winery is a nice trip too. Bellvue is about 20 min. from Seattle across the 520 bridge.

Take the biggest big gulp and set it outside and watch it fill up with rain...JK this isn't fun nor is it good for your health. I would go to a bar for the hawks game for sure I bet that would be fun, If they lose you could prolly watch people rioting in the streets and maybe pick up a nice gift from a store after there window gets smashed. You could pick up teenage girls at the Bellevue Square Mall. EMP is tight I would check that out lots of cool stuff there. You could go to 40 different starbucks in an hour.

I don't really know seattle is kinda lame during the winter.

Lots of racing going on but you don't have a car. Try Todai restaurant in downtown, gameworks is fun if you have never been to one but the games are getting old nowadays. You can hit up the aquarium or the Pacific Science Center. Not much RX-7 stuff going on right now since its awfully wet, we wont start getting our till March or so.

Lots to do in Seattle, even when it's soggy. Seattle Center (Space Needle, EMP, etc)., Ballard Locks, Seattle waterfront (Acquarium, Russian Submarine, Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe, Pike Place Market, etc.), Argosy cruises (Lake Washington, Lake Union, Puget Sound, San Juan Islands whale watching), Woodland Park Zoo (zoo.org), University District, Bell Town, yadda yadda. It's also fun to take the Safeco Field tour, even in the winter.

I am here in a hotel in Bellevue... this place is hell. No offense, but it reminds me of everything I hated about living outside Boston...

Rain
Gray
Cold-ish
Pine trees
Scraggly bushes
Bad roads (not as bad as boston)
Inept drivers
Hilly / Mountains

Oh well, I have no damn clue what I'm going to do tonight, it's about 8:30 my time so I'm hungry! Maybe I'll go find some food somewhere.

Yup, that's Bellevue.

So eat a snack to tide you over and get yourself on the other side of Lake Washington. Go to downtown Seattle and you will have many good choices for food. 13 Coins, Cheesecake Factory, Gordon Biersch (inside Pacific Place), Todai, The Ram (U. Village), Il Fornaio, Metropolitan Grill, Rock Salt, Cutters Bayhouse, Salty's, etc. I'm sure there are great places in Bellevue, but that was never my playground.

Seattle on a raining Thursday night is not the best time to go out for the sights, I work in Bellevue/Redmond next to Microsoft. Bellevue Square and the theatres are the best thing till the morning.

I want to know where you go? It sounds like your stomping grounds are the same as mine.

Every where! It depends on what kind of croud and music I'm in the mood for. If i just want to drink Earls or the Irish Imigrant. Hip hop/ rap Downunder, venom, tabella, last supper. Techno Noc Noc, Phoenix Underground, Contour. Then there's TJ's, Kirkland Ave pub, and the Shark club inKirkland those places are cool.

Kirkland is tight if you wanna get trashed and party it up. If you want to go for a good drive head out towards monroe/duvall there are many unpatrolled backroads and it is pretty hard to get lost.

East Mercer Way if you want a intense windy road, right next to bellevue take I90 towards seattle and take the first exit on mercer island(east mercer way) at the offramp go left and just follow that road, you would have way more fun in a seven but still a cool road regaurdless of what your driving.

-watch out for stuck up rich people walking more then three dogs at once

Just watch out for cops. Driving down 85th is deadly around 2:00. But oh man, the eye candy in that area is top notch.
