My T2 build thread
So I'm gonna tear it back down again. needs a new wiring harness, turbo, LIM, injectors gonna be cleaned, also rebuilding the diff, and replaceing the busings, adding delin subframe mounts, diff mount, and dtss eleminators. removing rear sway bar. I got a FMIC to go in, also gonna install my apexi neo AFC, and gonna smoke the sidemarkers, turn signals and tails.
Also gonna get a new clutch, and lightweight flywheel,
While I'm at it I'm gonna replace the burnt interior, and some broken interior peices. finally get around to replaceing the door moldings
Looking to get some coilovers, and camber plates. If I get these, also be rolling the fenders.
Mods so far are
1.7 Rtek with 720CC secoundarys
3"dp, to hollow cat, to a'pexi N1 catback
manual boost controller set to 10 PSI
electric Boost gauge
AEM uego wideband
oil pressure gauge
Greddy BOV
Emitions removed
RB front sway bar,
front strut brace
Ported waistgate, and turbine inlet (blown turbo)
3" TID with cone filter

Poly bushings in front (control arm, ball joints, and tie rod ends
trailing plugs all around,
FD fuel pump rewired
Banjo bolt mod

about 300 would be about what I'm looking for this time, I'll eventually have to take it appart again then I'll upgrade to more, I can upgrade injectors, I have a AFC neo and can tune them down. I'm gonna be getting a larger turbo asap, I have a T4 manifold, but I'm gonna probably run a T3 turbo with an adaptor. I just need a good turbo, and an external waistgate, I found a t4 that would work well, with a 50 trim, suppose to get 15psi by 3800 rpm, but its 800 bucks that I don't have. I'll be searching Craigslist for my turbo since I'm a strugling student, I have a TB mod so I don't punch it before 3000 anyway.
Update: still trying to get my FB running, need a place outside DEQ so I can get tags, anyone wanna let me use there addy? or want to loan me a full stock exhaust, and smog pump for a week or so? No way that thing will pass at the moment. not without a few hundred dollars that I also don't have.
I did however pull side markers and turn signals the other day and tinted them. It was a rainy day, I had nothing to do and a can of night shades. They didn't bother me before, but I have to say I like them smoked. looks kinda tuff.

Got the FB back on the road as of 1:30 this morning. neighbors arn't too pleased. forgot how loud that thing was. was hitting the round abouts up last night.

Updates: I've finished one tail light in my spare time, picked up a new carpet to fix my burnt one, thanks mark, Glove box, and some new vents, still need a few interior peices, but almost back to full nice interior. I still need to get triangle vents, mirror triangles, stereo suround, and a dash kit for the stereo. but all the big stuff is getting done. I'm replacing the idot cluster with a 3 gauge pod. also got my 2 belt alt pulley today, I think I'm gonna try and find a 130 amp alt.

Alright so parts are coming in
so far I've gotten a new interior with glovebox and new door slls
some window switchs a spare just so when the passager one ***** out
a new vent to replace my broken one
3 or 4 new struts
SS brake lines
Getting a new turbo and wiring harness this weekend

so got some more parts yesterday, I'll snap some pics
Updates are both tails are done, one still needs installed but 10 minutes time and its done.
Got a new S4 turbo yesterday (gonna wait on the T4) pulled it appart to port waistgate. ended up sewing some heat wrap on it to sheild it. gonna run the stock sheilds too. its not super pretty but looks like it will work.
About to go pull interior, and re rewire the fuel pump.

More parts, I picked up a set of ground control coil over sleeves, I plan to upgrade later but for now... these. getting a s5 stereo surround to replace my now so broken I just took it off s4 one.
So far rear interior is pulled, seats are pulled, tail lights are both in, glove box is swapped (was actually a pita I'll explain below), turbo's waistgate is ported, and hot side wrapped up. also painted some misc parts black that wouldn't work with the black carpet.
Glove box fiasco, so I like my glove box interior so I wanted to keep the current box it self, just wanted to swap lids since the S5 is made of metal hinge rather than plastic, and the look of the latch is a little better imo. so I just swap over the lid, but now it wont shut, so I go to the doner box to steal the latch, its not there. I ended up taking it all appart and swapping the hook and spring, and running the s5 latch, it all works now, but way more of a pain that that should of been. I like it though.

Smoked Flat Black s4 tails? Your car needs a bath. Glove box looks better, but you shoulda asked me, I think I have another red s4 glove box lid in good shape, I snagged it at UP-IT.
There has been some discussion about turbo blankets on the forum somewhere about them cooking turbos, retaining too much heat...

yep smoked flat black. I like it and yes needs a bath bad. filthy. the heat wrap is only one layer, if it smokes the turbo, I wont do it again, if not should give me a cooler engine bay.
my red glove box was fine. i just think it adds a good contrast of red to black, exspecially once the black carpet is in.

I don't have the diff bushings yet, yeah let me see if I can find my micrometer and I'll get the mesurements, I'll see if I can find my auto cad and I'll draw it out for you also. there not too expensive though, heres where I got them. they have free shipping.

I also got the wire to rewire the pump again, I was short on wire last time and had to splice 2 together. so thats why I'm doing it again. plus I want to run it a little nicer this time. spent some more time tearing out the interior, should be all the way out tomorrow at some point.

So I've installed the rear strut bar, after drilling the holes in the towers, I split a piece of vacuum line 3mm I believe, and used it as a grommet to clean up the cut, I'll take pics tomorrow, also cut the interior to fit the bar. I know it doesn't do much, just looks a little better, but I'm also gonna do it for the intercooler, so that should help preserve intercooler pipes.
Got most of the carpet out today, just need to free it up under the peddles, also spent some time and gave her a bath as nick pointed out it was over due, then after dark II spent a few hours straitening some new door side moldings to replace my missing ones. used a torch to get them close to strait, then I zip tied them together and placed them on a base board heater for half hour. wish I would of taken a before pic to show how warped these where but should have no problem now.
Cleaned up the new/used LIM gasket was pretty stuck on but some time with a razor blade it eventually came off.
Still have tons of work to do Just need weather like today. I'll post more pics tomorrow.

sorry for the delay. took me some time to figure out how to get the pictures from my phone to the computer.
Got the front mount bolted on, and bumper cut now also. been too shitty to get much done on her.
Quick question do I have to lose the windsheild cleaner resivoir, or what, can I relocate it somewhere else. and a Pic of where I'm supose to drill the hole on the passager side would help alot.
