This build was fun. . And the first for me. Nothing big. no P porting. but want to do more. should have done it long ago. But i just thought tons of smoke was Ok. till people started flipping me off. anyways she turns over. and has compression. i will be making a first start video i think.

Thats awesome! glad you got everything goin, you just buy a rebuild dvd and go at it?

On a side note did you set the engine ontop of your dinner for motivation to finish it? lol

exactly. No engine... no food, I watched a few videos on the Oil control rings and apex seals and internal Oil o-rings on the housing and a few other things.. to double check i was doing it correctly. It went smooth. we will see if she runs.. im sure it will

Did you replace the apex seal spring's and corner seal springs? or did you reuse them? some rebuilds iv seen take about 300-600 miles on the fresh engine before they start behaving well on a start up

As for the idle I always ran my high some where in the 1000-1200 range until I have about 1000 miles on the engine then I lowered the idle,
The engine probably needs a bit of mileage until they start working properly

carry a bit of MMO with ya if your having start issues and pour a tablespoon into the spark plug holes to get it running during your break in period

All new springs. side seals are used. new apex seals. new FD corner seal springs from atkins. I am in the 2nd gen forum. i also found out from my ecu codes my vacume pressure sensor might not be working.. so il be looking for that. and a few other sensors that i think are part of it. but mostly the engine just needs time i think. the new apex seals might not like used housings. who knows

Strong. compression seems good. Starts better. so far i think i have 1,500 miles on it. So i must have done something right. But i guess i should change the oil. looks very thin for oil. could have been the break in affect., Thanks for asking

I have seen these "corners" before and believe me, its not as easy as your think to build a truly good engine.
