My car went through the assembly line with the wrong spare tire. Its a 5 lug

I wonder what you folks think about this. My car has four lugs and mazda sent it out the door with a spare tire that has 5 hole lugs. The spare tire has not been removed... weird. Also one panel has the wrong shade blue.... It is very subtle but what if it was somthing more important in the moter. You hear horror stories about new cars having phantom problems... I will expect to here jokes about this but perhaps sombody has a good spare. I plan to remove the tire anyway to make the car lighter.

Are you sure? The car has been around for almost 20 yrs and you think no one could have tinkered with it?

Unless you bought it new and it never left your sight I'd say it came from the factory the right way and someone swapped out the parts.

I am the second owner. I see the guy around now and then. I have the original invoice and newspaper add. This guy was just a really extreme guy about taking care of the car. The spare tire is really cool. It is a 16 inch aluminum bmw/porch looking rim.
I also own a suberue wich I also am the second owner. I work with the original owner and I noticed that one of the trims around the air vent on the passenger side is the wron kind of blue. I think it happens to mass produced cars.... Parts are not always available for what ever reason however the line must go on. Its really up to the buyer to notice this kinda stuff.

lol some interior peices beeing slighty different shades is probably more of a problem of quality control.... haha as i notice alot of the rx-7 peices are slighly diff colours, or more faded...

I must say when i bought my car the first thing that came out was the spare tire. No i didnt get a flat, just weight reduction, lol. Anyways the rim on that thing looked 80 times better than the stock T2 rims.

I would like to talk to you. you would not beleive a few things... anyrate another time for the rambling.
thank you for that tip.
I meet with the original owner of my car of which I am the second owner and we discussed this tire issue of course he did not know of it. The car has never had a road flat. I drive it with z rated tires now. This guy is a credible as an honest person can be. We talked at starbucks today. He also did not notice the passenger panel that has a darker blue carpet down low on the door... I am not upset about it. This just adds to the whole story about the car. Can you beleve the top is 17 years old. I keep it out of the sun unless it is being driven. People dont realize how much stuff backes in the sun
When I bought the car the targa section cover had not been opened. He would bring the targa inside the house. I was the first to open it.
I would like to talk about your time assembling cars sometime later. take care. david or 1 noblerider. Do you know why I am called 1noble rider? Hint my car is an 88 vert made in the usa

You only have a 4 lug suspension? As far as I know, they never made anything but a 5lug. What year is it?

All verts came with 5-lug, if you have a 5-lug spare it is because the hubs (if orig) are 5-lug. If you don't have 5-lug hubs someone swapped them out and it still has the original spare.

The different color interior panel issue could be a result of how it was typically parked relative to the sun. Like if I parked a car in my driveway every night the sun would fade the back of the headrests.

Get it?

I've been playing with RX7s since 1987 and have never heard of a 4-lug vert stock here in the US.

THEY DON'T EXIST.

You are mistaken OR they have been converted to 4-lug for one reason or another (ie theft recovery reassembled with the incorrect parts).

My info comes from personal experience, original product literature (Mazda's own brochures) and car rags from the period, Road & Track and Car and Driver.

To make yourself feel better post up a question in the 2nd gen section and call the local dealer and ask them if the 'Vert had 4-lug hubs.

We aren't lying to you.

I Am Pretty Sure Miatta Just Came Out When I Bought This Car. They Have The Same Bbs Wheel With For Lug. No Other Mazdas Had These Rims With The Mazda Caps... The Spare Tire I Beleve Is Not A Bbs Rim? I Would Have To Post A Picture Of It. It Looks Like A16 Inch Rim

Nope, the rear calipers aren't 4-piston on any Mazda. The front are 4-piston aluminum and that is what you should have.

You car is supposed to have a factory sourced BBS wheel on it with a center cap covering the lug nuts. Does it have those wheels on it?
