to me the reason a rx7 is fun is becuase of the rotary.. The wrap up, the sound, the power curves... I have had dozens of muscle cars and hundreds of v8 cars, and the only reason i own rx7s is for the rotarys... Just seems to me that if you dont want a rx7 to have a rotary but you like how they look, buy a daytona

But i suppose i only see downsides to a V8 swap... Keep them in the muscle cars, keep the rotarys in the 7's! But i am also well aware i am a hater,lol... So take all i say with a grain of salt...... I just dont get it though... But my first love was a rotary and still is....

i dont drag race at all. my car is purely for 'grip racing' if you wanna call it that.. autox and trackdays. maybe hillclimb if i get the ***** (i really dont wanna stuff it into a tree)

i like my car for the handling + power delivery. its a good combination thats relatively easy to drive. the surge from spooling turbo makes corner exit a bit more difficult..

and yah, i have nothing against rotaries. if i was willing to rebuild as necessary, and just used the car to dick around with, i'd be all for it. i do love that ramp of power when boost comes on ideally i'd rock an NA 3 rotor, but thats real money. costs more than LS1 build for sure, and you have issues with the steering rack and all that.

If you're still looking at getting a new engine or rebuilding one, I still have that whole t2 longblock I'm looking at getting rid of.

your putting it back in with 30/60 compression? I wouldnt do that man, its out, get it rebuilt otherwise you may put it back togeather and in a week could blow up or it may not start at all?? That would just drive you insane wouldnt it! What did robert suggest?

i cant blame you there.lol. I think i would do the same thing, drive it till its got nothing less and then find another one... Well ****, looks like you will be on the road before me after all sweeeet!
