You're the guy who flagged me down in Albertsons right? Sadly you're the only other person I've met in Yakima with a rx7. Although I do see Rx8s pretty much everywhere.

A meet would be pretty awesome. We could meet at the safeway on nobhill saturdays.

88 TII with "a few mods" and you're getting your clutch done. Heh, I suppose most of them will probably come out of the woodworks now thats its getting to summer.

Yeah good Idea we should get a meet going. Your not going to ABF?, a few of us are heading down there on Saturday you should come.

Here is the link to CWR Yakima Club http://www.cwrotary.net/4.html
Chris is floating around this forum at times talk to him and become a member.

There are a lot of 7's around town but a great number of them aren't associated to rx7club or other forums for that matter. There are only a handful on this board.

I'm up for a meet. I have to get my RE installed though. Yes there is an rx7 club in Yakima. We have a lot of active rx7 people in the city and a lot of knowledge to go around. I do think though that we should wait a bit, as most people are taking a lot of time off for AB. I won't be going aa I am still stuck in pullman.

I will be back in Yakima soon though. Hows your car running DriftN7? You going to be drifting this season or not?

12-14 mpg is about what I get as well, hey what turbo are you using and how much boost were you running to get your drag time?

that was a stock s5 turbo, on 11psi with the boost dropping to about 6psi by redline, on some shitty toyo spectrum tires, that were weather cracked..lol

just as a added note, i did this on the stock intercooler, i also pulled a 13.5 with my FMIC.

when that time was ran, i didnt have the injectors or FMIC...

Boost controller. He is on the edge of the turbos efficiency though. Any higher and he will start blowing the seals. They are just too old and small. He means to run that high of boost, he didn't have boost creep or anything like your 20 psi problem. \

Also the reason Driftin that you are getting such bad gas mileage, is because you have the upgraded fuel pump but not upgraded FPR, and your using stock ECU with the 680 secondaries. I bet your running quite rich.

I already know mort is SUPER rich haha. But soon he won't be hopefully.

My wastgate has been ported twice the first time it worked for a day it would peak up to 20psi, and then I ported it a 2nd time really big now it peaks to 14psi in third gear, the other gears would go up to 12psi. So Tweak a boost controller might help me keep my boost down because I do have a boost controller?

A boost controller will not help you keep your boost down. Well... no matter what it can't keep your boost down under what ever the stock wastegate spring is holding it at. The only way you are getting these crazy 20 and 14 psi with the stock turbo that you have insanely ported out is because either you have some HUGE exhaust restriction, (but that would make it very hard to boost, do you have a decent amount of turbo lag with the stock turbo?) or your WG actuator isn't working correctly at all. (maybe even stuck closed or only able to open 1/2 way max) You NEED to do this for me, and this will let us know whats going on. Either pressurize your whole intake (a good idea anyways to find VAC leaks, trust me you have some! haha) or pressurize the line going to your WG actuator. Do it at 1 psi at a time, and see at what PSI your actuator is actually actuating at. You might have a bad actuator that is only opening at 12 psi ...

Update: ReTed had very very bad luck running the stock turbo past 12 psi. The seals would flat out just die, keep off the throttle till we can figure it out. If you have no boost controller (I have one I will be selling soon btw), and your using the stock s4 turbo, AND your wastegate is ported pretty heavily, you should be seeing 6 psi, 7 max.

Opps, sorry still 8 and 12 is a big difference. Have you done the above test yet? I am eager to hear the results.

no not yet I have spent a day and a half working on my car, first the clutch then an electrical problem the wire that goes to the engine comp fuse to the ECU was ruined, so we replaced that, and it was a nightmare I hate electrical, then Iwent around the block gave it a little boost and pop went my FMIC piping a section of it blew out then go ran over by my car and flatened it, so we had to try to locate some piping, when all the pipe shopes are closed, then got it all back together, then I drove home took a shower went to fill her with gas checked the oul, and some how my oil was all gone, it was full when Iparked it when my clutch went out, very scary! So that was our day. Now im pretty sure theres just something wrong with my turbo, it lags terribly.

I would not doubt that the turbo is blown after running such high boost. Be prepared for it to be competely blown. When your car did drive recently did you see any smoke behind you? Also if you had no oil, that also means that your turbo was not getting oiled ...and although our turbos are water and oil cooled, if you were still running 12-14 psi .... eekk.

Sounds like you are starting to get the idea of what it's like to own a rotary. Do it right or do it twice kinda thing. It's going to cost a lot to keep your car up and running. Luckily you are wiling to do most of the work yourself, but that takes away a lot of time.

No oil... scary.
