If we want to take a detour from 26, how about South on 53, 53 to Miami, Miami to Foss Rd, Foss Rd back to 26. http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=45.80...9884&z=5&hl=en

Would be a lot of fun and less cops around. Just a suggestion.

Everybody wants on the left lane, but no one wants to go fast.

Ok...here it goes

Meet at 10 AM at Apex Restoration - 12225 sw Beaverdam rd (or Millikan way depending which map you look at) ,Beaverton,OR 97005
leave there about 11 AM and drive down to Carlton,OR (aprox noon)
from Carlton to Blaine, OR ( using Meadowlake rd. FUN ROAD! )
Blaine to Beaver, OR -good place to stop, bunch everyone up again, get fuel ,stop for lunch etc.(approx 1:30)
Beaver to Wheeler using Hwy 101 (approx 3:00)
Wheeler to Hamlet\Necanicum Junction - using hwy. 53 to hwy 26 ( Hamlet is that place on 26 to your left that has fuel, general store etc before the Cannon Beach\Seaside split if you are going to the coast. (approx 4:00)
Then Hamlet\Necanicum Junction to Seaside.- meet up again ,fuel , eat ,etc.(approx 5:00)
way back I'm not sure of at this moment because I'm not sure how many will show up

now we might be meeting up with some folks up from Washington at the boat ramp by the bridge at Wheeler. not sure of this yey either.

Oh, how many of you guys have FRS radios?
[and then how many have the subchannels?]

It'd be cool if we could all keep in contact [or at least have our passangers manage the communication between us] - we'd be able to stop if someone had a problem?

[if I know you IRL - I might have one you can borrow]

Oh, and is someone bringing Radar detectors? [again - we could use the FRS to sound the alarm to everyone ]

I have 6 hand radios...I have them charging now. Here's what we do.."If we say we're going to channel one, we don't go to channel one, we go to channel three. Then if we say we are going to channel three, we really go to channel five. "

Can anyone name the movie?!

Question

Hey, would you guys allow a motorcycle in the mix? Just in case my FD isn't running that weekend. Wouldn't want to miss out on being able to meet fellow Rex guys considering I just moved to the area and I really don't know anybody. My bikes a 2005 Suzuki GSX-R1000.

I'm running the Bible Creek Hillclimb this weekend and I may inflick damage to my Rex. Wish me luck, see if I can beat the ASP class time record held by a Z06.

Hey Spyder..I think we should entertain the idea of your place if you still want to offer it. It would be easy to divert off the path to your place and a great opp. as wrx19 said for photos. Is that offer still out there?

It does..I guess when the guys drove it, it was a hard pack, not dirt. They didn't seem to think it was a concern though. Their cars didn't collect pounds of dirt, but it was a little dusty. When they were out there, there was a paving crew paving most of the road..they may pave that section? The section of dirt is about 1.5 miles long.

I did some recon on Bible Creek Rd last weekend and went on Meadowlake Rd towards Carlton and it turned into a dirt road. Didn't go any further so I don't know long it stayed a dirt road.

We could go further south to Willamina and take Bible Creek Rd that will connect to Meadowlake Rd after it turns back to pavement. That's an awesome road, but we got to be careful an not **** off the locals of that area. Don't want to be the cause of losing that road for future hillclimbs. Just a thought.

If it's only 1.5 miles long, let's stick with that road then.

I have to check with the family, make sure no one else is there, but I see no reason why not. Gotta go back through and read the date....

Talking

hi all. I'm cartapex's buddy from the Mazda 3 site and I'm so glad to see all of the response on this site. you guys kick ***! I'm the one who did the test run and the lower portion of Meadowlake rd. is getting repaved up to about the to[p of the first hill, after that the road goes from so so to pretty good to so so again then into super twisty to a very hard packed dirt road that maybe lasts a couple of miles ( good place to cool down brakes/turbos/ etc) then back into super twisty and so on. I was thinking of using a portion of Bible creek but I know how many bikes are out there and I really don't want to **** off any of the locals. I think Spyder's place would be sweet to take a break and there is some talk on another site of some Washington folks meeting us on 101 somewhere so I think that would be a sweet place. when I did the run I had a buddy in a 8 following me and we used radios to talk to each other so I think that will also be a great thing for us to have. I am also thinking that I might start the main course 10 minutes ahead to be a "bird dog" to see whats out there but at the same time I don't want to miss all of the fun.
nice talking to ya!

Unfortunately a train of sportscars always attracts more attention than if you were speeding alone. I remember going North bound on I-5 on my bike averaging 100mph all the way to Seattle and not see a single cop north bound, but I did see a **** load going south bound. The reason, Gumball Rally. I'm not saying were Gumball level but we will attract unwanted attention from cops.
