WA maria wide body kit picked up

well got the parts yesterday. not in the best of condition, lots of f/g work needs to be done, chunks missing right fender has a large crack up the center of the wheel well and a previous repair, front spoiler is in bad shape been curbed too many times.
All in all very workable just going to be lots of hours to make it correct again.

Awesome find, bad/or good thing is they cut the rears off the car leaving the steel inner wheel wells with the rear set. Not so bad in my eyes, at least they did not butcher the rears to be unusable. Not sure if I want to resurect these parts or sell them as of yet, still comtemplating this morning..........already have a member interested in the front fenders but not sure if I want to part it out yet. Still missing the rear defussior and wing. still looking for these parts. Not sure what to do yet.

Id say only use the kit if you can repair it in such a way that you cant tell its been damaged. Nothing worse than a damaged body kit. Also what are you planning to run for wheels to fill out the wider fenders?

On the account of seeing your car over a handful of times Joe I would say your exterior looks to be in great condition, dont get me started on the interior Take the dive and repair the kit, if you have any problems with it take tooshorts advice and let him help. Tooshort does some great **** with paint and body work.

Thanks for the support na, kinda torn. mod a nice original car or just let it be. this was to be my only sons first car, but after the engine build and other mods, not sure if I can turn an 18 year old loose in a powerful sports car and see if he will make it home every night. Kind of talked him out of the car........BUT, he still really wants it. Mom and I split 6 months ago and I feel this will be the only thing of mine he will really have to keep for him self. might need some support here.

everyone on this site is great, meeting everyone at meets has been a lot of fun, and Alex really enjoyed Izzys last week. I will make a hard choice this weekend. thanks everyone for the replys.

ok guys,
I have made the choice to go wide body, I will post up some pics later for the kit as I got it. Will also start to photo log all the process. As for wheels and tires, being I have the gsl-se suspension I am open for more options with the larger bolt pattern. Being I like old school(carbs and things) might go with a solid wheel like center line or some thing, or a silver painted racing wheel, not sure yet.

Thanks for the kind complements guys, I have a nice base to work from with little rust, and will be able to sell off nice removed parts to help fund the process.
my game plan is as follows, get the front fenders and air dam striped and repaired, primed.
mocked up on car to fit correctly, I will need to find the correct mounting brackets, might have a source.
next step is to remove the rears from the metal rear quarter panels, this will be a long process as I do not want to damage them. this where the real fun begins. the cutting and fitting of the rears to the car. I will be seeking info from others who have done it to make it correct with little problems.
once every thing is fitted with new wheels and tires, off to the paint shop for a factory paint color.

soo much to do, but the end results should be awesome. Let the build begin..........pics to follow.

well the fender and spoiler prep is taking longer than i thought, found lots of hidden damage and spider cracking in the fenders once stripped, the spoiler is really bad. Thinking about just junking it and finding a different one, we will see, I have fixed glass parts in worse condition.

looking at wheel options now. want to stay with 4 lug, but options are small. progress is slow right now.....have to work all week end and only one day off this week, oh well moving forward.
keep ya posted
