mans some people are dicks!

I was at work today and my boss told me there was a car like mine out side. I was like oh and fd sweet. So I went out there to say hi to him....he is like "What do you want? I was like I just wanted to say hi I have a fd too, and he is like "AND?" So I just walked away and said you dont have to be a dick.

Seriously I always thought it was just people saying that most 3rd gen owners were dicks but this guy was a real dick!

His FD was black with some ugly tasteless chrome wheels.

tweek games i have also experanced the same thing with 8 oweners too but also in my experance i have also meet some really really chill 8 owners too. hmmm

Maybe he is deaf? lol (sorry I am taking sign language as my foreign language at WSU lol.) I ... have to admit .... since I have started taking the class I have acted deaf 3 times either to get out of a bad situation, or so I don't have to talk to people that make me wish I really was deaf.

I think that we (people that actually join an rx7 online forum, and actively post and work on our cars), are a different breed. Personally me and my fellow rx7 friends I choose to hang out with love rx7's and anything that has to do with it. I have been known to CHASE down rx7's in the pullman / yakima area. (sometimes with weird results lol, Example : https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hlight=pullman )

Now that I think about it, I think I know why all the people we have been talking about are mad / refuse to talk. (Other than being in complete ignorance about their car.) They are so busy/mad/frustrated from continually having to fix their car without the help and support from the forums that they just don't have the time to sit and BS about how awesome their car actuallyl is. I could not even begin to think of how fast I would have got rid of my rx7 if all these resources didn't exist. lol. I actually feel a little sorry for the poor angry bastards. If they were to just be nice I'm sure they would be a lot happier in the long run.

I'm also very curious on what is going to happen when all these rx8's start to fall/blow apart from ignorant female teenagers forgetting to check their oil or getting massive carbon buildup from staying under 4000 rpm. I guess we will have to wait and see.

I only have one rule when it comes to talking to people about rx7s : I refuse to talk with kompressorlogic, he is just weird! LOLOL jk jk.

rx-8 owners are the worst. I've only ever gotten 1 owner that recognized what my FB was. And we raced. everyone else looks at my car like it's just some old loud POS.

Naa man your cool. Like I said you are one of the "special breeds". I guess I am over generalizing, but it just pissed me off to get a 17 year old blonde talking on the phone with one hand, holder her Pomeranian out the window with the other, swerving all over the road trying to steer with her knees. Ask me how I saw my first rx8 accident. I just don't understand. Needless so say, obviously that was an extreme case, but there is NO way a little pre-teen princess would have get into a smelly loud FC or even and FD (lyke omg its lyke 13 years old, ew). So to me, (and I think many of us) the rx8 has somehow softened or ruined the rotary engines reputation as a powerful +1 to manhood car.

That is most likely the main reason for an rx7 owners hidden hatred towards the rx8. But like I said, I <3 anything that has to do with a rotor spinning and want to learn as much as I can. Personally I took a couple test drives in some rx8, and I was severely unimpressed. GREAT car for a daily driver though, the look of it is growing on me. I just wish it would get a little lighter and loose the back seats.

I had this happen to me too twice by an FC owner. And I was in a FC as well.
Most of the 8 owners I've ran into were all cool and all the FD owners I ran into talked my ear off.

Yeah, I think that since I spend most of my time in a college town (pullman) I have a higher % of dittzy rx8 owners. I have actually only seen 1 owner that was male, but he was hard core asian and I could not understand one word he said. He was cool and gave me the thumbs up after getting his butt handed to him on moscow-pullman highway though.

To be honest this is probably what keeps many 8 owners getting together with previous generations because they know a good percentage of them dislike the 8. Most complain about its lack of power and do not think it is a "legitimate" rotary car. To truly appreciate it you have to drive it on back roads The chassis on 8 is greatly improved over the previous generation rotary cars and it is a great platform to build off of.

The power for the 8 is coming. There is a dyno on rx8club with 400+whp rx8. In the last year ignition solutions and engine management have come out that is allowing the Renesis to be tuned for 350+whp. Hopefully my car joins the ranks in 2009!

Anyway, blah blah blah...I love all rotary cars

ok for all thoes who say 8 owners are bad times/ stuck-up you then have never driven with kristopher and the winding road crew. when i first got my car (fc) i hooked up for a few drives. at first i wasnt really in to 8 i thought they looked ulgy and didnt respect their power. however once we got to the winding part of the drive my crapy fc with blown suspension could barly hold up but they were still really really cool ppls. after the drive we ate at a resturant and they openly talked to me and didnt mind me asking question or what not. i personly think it just those select few ppls who give us rotar heads a bad names (ie ricers and honda owners that are just looking at getting in to drifting). i personly say if there is a set "A-holes" it would be the integra crowd IMO

Hmm.. I haven't talked with any RX owner that gave me crud..
Though it doesn't happen too often..
Once a guy got out of an RX-8 and commended me on a nice car when I was getting a pizza down the st from work [and that parking lot seemed to have an FB a bunch of times..]

One guy who brings his computer in to the MacShop, I talked to for a while, apparently he had Rob do all the work to his FC.. had some custom plate but I can't remember it. He was cool too.

When I see another RX-7 on the road they usually wave back.. the 8 people don't seem to know what's going on, and the older women in RXs don't even look.

lol, though there is that one guy at the gas station who said something like "Jap cars suck!"
[sadly I had the auto base so I couldn't burnout or anything good for him.. I didn't want to kill *another* drive shaft :P]
[The other guy at the gas station though, I think I'm convincing him.. He tells me what cars he's seen on CL lately, and asks me a couple questions]

HA Hope I never got you in trouble. The replacement oil cooler is installed just need to leak check it. I cant crank her up until the dash panels are back togeter and my gauges are re-routed to the center dash speaker.
Chance the reason why that guy gave you the cold should is because you beat him in a race! Not to mention you probably took his money that he was going to buy new wheels to replace the nasty chrome wheels.
Oh by the way I dont have a black FD guys.

I don't acknowledge a rx8 from a toyota camry from a chevy malibu, 8's are just another rolling chicane going down the road in stock form. Now if the owner has done some mods and knows something about the car or history I would pay attention a little more. Generally it isn't the case, I have met some cool owner though.
