Looks like time for a rebuild

Looks like I will be rebuilding my 12a this summer if i can set aside the funds and the time. My oil pan and front cover have been leaking since I picked it up. It used to puddle oil next to the fill tube and hasn't been lately, which I found strange. Upon closer inspection it looks as if either I am having dowel issues, or my housings are warping. Unless I can get a hold of a strong 13b for a good deal it looks like I will be tearing apart my 12a. I have never rebuilt or torn apart a rotary so this will be a good (and expensive) learing expirience for me. Fortunately I have another car to drive during this project. Sadly not a 7

I am thinking that either engine I end up using I will do a street port at the least (half or full-bridge ideally). I would also really like to go fuel injected, guess I will see what I can get a hold of when the time comes.

But if you do that you risk chucking a seal and taking out an iron or two and possibly the rotor with it, definitely the housing (which you migh want to replace anyways, so that's not as big of a deal I guess).

Speedo wasn't working when I bought it in January and I have no idea how long it wasn't working before I got it. I have put on 3k since I fixed the speedo so right now I am at 169k according to the speedo. Oh yeah, Deena, I am going to call my work and find out about getting the 6th and 7th off for ABF. Hope to see the gang there.

yeah, but it's just oil leaks. if it was more than that, well that would be a different situation.
