Long day... Thanks Z-Beater!

Well the long day wasn't caused by zbeater, but I wanted to personally thank him in front of the forum for helping me with a job that "should" have taken a couple hours. David helped me out for hours while we re-sealed my front cover and replaced the o-ring. Things got bad when a water pump bolt broke off too far into the water pump pulley causing the pulley not to turn. After getting that fixed we were able to get the car started after fiddling with the distributer for a few seconds. Finally get it started up, running great, but there is an oil leak! Turns out the front cover metal oil line (I have a 12a with the "beehive") got cracked in the process of removing the motor mounts. For the time being I have a temporary fix. I cut out the cracked section and clamped in some heater hose between the section I cut out. I didn't have much to clamp onto at the front cover fitting but it seems to be working for the moment. I do not have the proper wrech to remove the whole metal line but it looks like now would be a good time to switch to front mount oil cooler. Which brings me to my next question... Anybody have an oil cooler with lines and pedestal (for cheap!) to help me out? My only other option would be to take the solid line off of a junk 12a I got. I need a cheap solution ASAP that I am goinbg to be able to rely on for a daily driver until I can get my Honda fixed. Thanks.

lol...it did take a little longer than expected. We sis not even get to the speedo cable No need to thank, just glad that I could help.

I have to admit I about shat myself when I saw the oild spewing out of that line. There was so much coming out it was insane.

Getting a hold of me can be a little tricky...but PMs work the best. Well that is until AT&T can hook me up with a phone.

Man, I hate those situations that just seem to get worse the more time you put into them.
I am glad you are on the up side of it now!

Well my "riggin'd" temporary fix ended up being more temporary that I had hoped. Failed on me after I started it up to leave work today. So now it is parked at my work. No damage done but it is my only driver right now so I need to have it fixed ASAP... As in tomorrow morning!

I was able to source a line from another 12a engine I had. Line is now fixed and I am glad to announce that it is not leaking anymore. I blocked of the OMP so I am running premix only. It is nice to have oil pressure and no more leaks now! Now if I could only get it sold?! Maybe this coming weekend I could take care of getting the GSL rear end put back in it? I know with the snow it would be a good thing to have!

So... kettlman & z-beater... You up to helping me out this weekend?

don't put the rear end in. just sell it. you'll get more in the long run and it can help your cash sitution out.
