OR Just picked up an s5

Hello, been a long time lurker now in the pdx area... I've had a long hiatus but am (hopefully) officially back in the scene now. Haven't owned an rx7 since 2002 and have been completely out performance cars for 5 years.

A little curious if anyone recognizes this car and if they'd be able to give me a little more history on it (mud flaps should make it stand out, someone loved it). Haven't had a chance to really tear into it but hoping it will meet my standards and become my project car.

I think its a pretty clean start, excuse the dirt, need some decent weather to get it cleaned up. (Also not sure how to post pics mobile)

Sorry, I messed up and got the imgur link wrong, then couldnt edit the post (waited too long), and decided to just wait till I got home to fix it.

I have the stock center caps for the vert wheels, as well as the stock 15" wheels with tires (which will all get sold/upgraded). So far it looks to need the interior wiring gone through or replaced. Not sure how bad it is just yet, but its apparently had two different alarms... fortunately i'm quite good with electrical.

Need to track down a few console pieces, but otherwise the interior is quite complete and in good condition for its age... even have the rear cargo cover (not that i'll ever use it).

Title clean, odometer is suspiciously low (i suspect isnt from this car), off to grab a battery so i can start diagnosing some problems. Hoping not to hear any horror stories or find any myself... really happy with the car so far

The car is looking good! It is pretty hard to find an FC that doesn't have a rough body these days. I offer my congratulations and condolences for getting back into Rx7s.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure the condolences are fitting until I get the car running decent. If the stock engine gives me too many issues I'll be ripping it out and moving on with the build. (Was hoping to enjoy the stock setup a bit till I can get the parts together for the rest of my build).

Car has a few mods I'll probably be holding onto... including PBM coilovers.

That looks nice!

How many miles on it? If you're lucky, the motor starts + all is well. Get a compression test when it's running decent. I'm gunna guess that everything that is rubber is cracked. Which could mean that you need a rebuild as well. Atkins has tons of kits readily available for that kind of stuff, I highly recommend them.

Congrats on the great find. Do it some justice and make her better than when you got her!
