INFO: Car show/import Car Show Northgate/Seattle
Anybody have any info on the car show/import car show that was held at Northgate/Seattle last year. Are they having it again this year. Date/time? Web site?

Go to this site: http://www.xpressentry.com/
Click on Registration. Select Traffic Jams.... Make sure you select the one for Seattle. Yes, it will be on August 12, 2006 at South Center Mall.
Register online at the site.... Make sure when you pull the registration form that at the top left corner you also select Seattle...
There's a few of us already registered...
On the same note .... there are other car shows... select drift fest and there's one at PIR on Jul 30,2006....

Drift Fest will most likely be cancelled one week prior to the show as they have done the last few times they were scheduled to come up to Seattle.... They came out a couple years back to Monroe and haven't come back since... They bailed on the 2 they had scheduled last year!! Jerks!!
In addition, the Traffic Jam at Northgate last year was gay because the NW Mini club was bitching about the music and sayin "there are kids here! Turn it down! Don't you have anything without curse words? bla bla bla...." Eventually they left and it got a little better....

I went on the linked site and it says that the show is at Westfield Mall. Is this Northgate? How big was the turnout last year? I usually go to the "Cruz" in Port Orchard (700+ cars), but am tired of the '55Chev-'32Ford set and no place for rotary cars.

Westfield Shopping Center is the Southcenter Mall Down by the intersection of I-5 and I-405. Space was limited so the show was PACKED and they did turn a few cars away... However, MANY of the people showing up had un-modded imports so it wasn't really anything special. There's local car club that likes to attept to win trophies for most team points and ends up not getting THAT trophy cuz the cars they bring are STOCK and nothing special/expensive! They only walk away with MOST representation trophy half the time. I'd expect another decent tunrout this year since KUBE usually helps sponsor or at least PLUGS the event.

Hi Jose,
What time are you going to get there? It would be kind of nice to have the rotary cars all in one section. Haven't made too many shows this year, but I took a note from you and painted a rotor to show people what a rotary "piston" looked like. Got tired of the "how many cyl. does it have?" question.

Well, check in is from 8-10am...
I was planning on leaving steilacoom around 7:00am. We could meet, maybe by the tacoma mall around 7am then hit on to south center mall.
I like to get there early...

Hi Jose,
I thought the check in for the Southcenter show didn't started until 10am? I don't know the Tacoma Mall to well, where to meet?(north, south, east, west part of mall?) I'll be coming in from Port Orchard.
I did that Curtis High School show last year and swore I'd never go back. Because some of us weren't preregistered they wouldn't let us into the main show and put us out in a field. (The half-drunk Mopar jurk next to me didn't help things much also.) After a while they found out that not enough cars showed up so they let us in to the big show (BF Deal!) A really poorly run show (at least last year.)

No, registration is from 8:00am-10:00am. If you go there too late, you might not have a chance to register. I am planning on leaving between 6:30am-7:00am. I am pre registered but is always good to show up early.... location
Are you familiar with the shopping center off 16... right before I-5.. I could meet you down there by the parking lot of Target..around 6:30am and then we could get back on the freeway.... unless that's too early for you. The show is first come first serve as far as parking location...
exit 153 of I-5 is the exit to the South Center Mall...

Is that the Target where I'd take the Union street exit (coming from the narrows bridge) turn left, go under the freeway then turn right into the Target parking lot? If its not, then I'm lost, but could still find the Tacoma Mall parking lot.

Yes, that's the one.... I coud meet you there between 7:00am-7:20am give or take a few minutes, then we can get back on the freeway so we can be on the way....
Let me know if this is doable...

I just double checked on the time and it seems that they have changed the time. It says 10:00am-1:00pm for vehicle load-in.. so I think we could leave Tacoma between 8-8:30am.... so we could meet between 8:00am-8:20am at the Target parking lot by 6th ave exit from I-16....and leave around 8:30am
Let me know if that works better... still should give us some time.. instead of going so early...

Again, the car show has been cancelled according to trafficjams staff. Any other shows this weekend???
Here is the email:
Due to the new event location Cartoys is unable to provide enough space to run the car show properly. Due to these changes, we are forced to cancel the car show. We will be issuing a refund of your registration fee within the next 3 to 5 business day. We apologize for this and hope it causes no inconveniences.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us at the address listed below.

Yes, I just got notification that its canceled. Because of the nature of my work I have to tell them way ahead of time that I need a couple days off and I am going to burn 24hrs of vacation to make this show. (I can't just cancel like CarToys.) What a burn by this company.)
The only show I know of is "The Cruz" in Port Orchard on Sunday, but I got harrassed by the Port Orchard Police last year when I went to the show, so I'm not going back this year, even though I live almost right next door.
