Info

I am thinking about buying this FD. the VIN# JM1FD3328P0210613.
93 touring was orrig VR than painted Blue . I ran the VIN on carfax and it looks like it came to WA from Canada on 02/20/2000.
I was wondering if any of you know who owned the vehicle.

OK guys I just bought for $6500 it from an auto wholesaler who he acquired from a Dealership. I ran VIN and it came back clean and the car shows it.

The BAD:
It smokes out of the exh. + At the turbo's, cant go over 60mph
Needs a new ignition due to the key being stuck in it.
Lower lip if the front bumper cracked as well as the rear bumper.

The Good:
I think I got a good deal
Interior in good shape for age + no rips in the seats
Aftermarket Body KIT & wheels
No Body Damage
Glass has no cracks or chips

I’m off today so I'll tinker with it.

Thanks guys!
Well I just did a compression test w/ a piston testor. My front rotor on all 3 phases were 85,85,85 now the rear was a whoping ZERO. I can imagine what the rotor and the housing looks like not to mention the twins. As for right now this project is just going to sit untill I raise more funds. It's too bad I had to go out an buy a new truck last month, if it wasnt for that pineapple here I come. Blake/Rob I finally got an FD an my powerplant will be built by you in the near future.

Ha, did you not notice the gnarly *** idle? That thing has to have been struggling with a rotor completely dead.

Even adding in the cost of rebuilding the motor right, I think you still got a good deal. Buying any FD with a running engine is a bit of a crapshoot anyway, since you never know how much it was abused or long it will last. This way you have a fresh start and can do things your way, from the ground up. To me, that's the ideal way to get into an FD.

Blake I couldn’t agree with you anymore. I've been looking for awhile with an FD with a blown motor in the Vancouver/PDX area @ this price range. It took me all of 30 min to close the deal and that’s without doing a compression check and driving it, since I had to go to work. I might have gotten it cheaper had I stayed their longer and pointed out all the faults of the car, but I didn’t want to low ball/insult the guy. I think I offered him a fare price. My main concern was the body and it had clean title. My wife thinks I am nuts for not driving it prior and paying that much fo a non runing car, to me it is well worth it.
Other than the rear rotor having no compression I took the car for a run to see if there are any other issues which were none that I could tell, then again this was my first time driving an FD. One thing for sure if felt good to be behind the wheel of a RX-7 again!

Well if anybody has any information about this vehicle please post or pm me.

Hey, at least your wife was nice enough to let you buy a "project" car. Most men don't have the luxury of not consulting their wives.... My married friends always get a non-waivering "NO" unless it's a car for her!! Poor guys....

My nice wife said you can buy that car if I buy her a Starbucks Espresso machine for $200....no brainier there.... I've learned from past experience to always consult with the wife first. 4 years ago I bought a 68' Karman Ghia without consulting her first and kept it a secret @ my Dads house in San Diego. To make a long story short he got tired of storing the car in his garage and called my wife to have me pick it up. Mind you he had it stored in his garage for 2 years. I got my a$$ handed to me and was force to sell the car. I knew if I did ask her she would of said the non-waivering "NO".
