It sounds great if it works, please post any additional info you find. if this works for all cars, you would think that there would be more reports, and more info on it. I'm curious what the news stations would find if this was sent to them.

to be honest I know zero about weather it works or not, I wanted to see if anyone had prior experience using it and if they saw good results.

do a search on google ro whatever, theres quite a few sites about it.
seems legit to me- acetone is highly volitile, and the idea is it helps the gas evaporate as it enters the engine. my reading did tell me that you should only use like 2oz per 10 gallons. too much and your mileage goes back down, and you risk messing up rubber seals.

I wonder how it affects the consumption of oil as well in our cars, since the oil is injected directly into the gas/air mixture...

tried it, saw absolutely no difference. It does no good, and no real true harm.

Not worth it in the end though, especially with what that stuff will do to your paint if you get it on it.

how much did you use? the reading said that too much acetone will just make the engine run worse, therebye reducing mileage. its only supposed to be 2oz per 10gal

I use it in my 1996 Dodge truck with a 360. I was getting poor mileage towing which was around 10-13. When I used it I got up to 17MPG once. I also managed to get 20 mpg (Not Towing). Most I ever got was 17MPG without the acetone. I also seem to get alot better mileage in town now with it.

I am on my 1st tank with the RX-7 now and have not caculated the mileage.
Without the acetone on my RX-7 which is a Se I have gotten 29.1 MPG.

I am wondering if that is more of a reaction of the cleaning properties of the chemicals in the acetone. The acetone has essentially cleaned out your entire fuel system. You should do a test, running a full tank with no acetone now and compare.

Where in Central Or are you?

yea if acetone just cleans your fuel system out then seafoam will do the same thing. maybe a higher octane fuel if its true will do the same. . . right? idk, a good way to save on gas is just while city driving dont hit ur secondaries. . . u feel like a dick sometimes cuz ur goin slow (at least my car is) but it definatly saves enough and your not putting crap into your gas tank.

Near Bend.

The fuel system was cleaned out with a product called BG44k which is the strongest fuel system cleaner that I know of on the market. There were also many bottles of Seafoam, Chevron proguard and redline FI cleaner before the acetone. During the usage of those poducts there was no mileage increase whatsover.

The acetone works. I ran multiple tanks of fuel here before I added the acetone and recorded the mileage. The mileage increased after the 2nd tank of fuel with acetone and continued to increase to it's maximum economy now. I have had another friend use it in his Diesel truck who has logged the mileage since day1 of owning his truck. He is now getting 3-5 MPG more now doing the same exact driving. He went without it a couple of times and the mileage went back to the average that he was getting before acetone.

Acetone enhances the combustion process providing for a more complete burn of the fuel.

I have seen excellent results on my truck as posted.

29 MPG is great for a Fb especially since it is a Se. The amazing part is that is the mileage before Acetone. I don't have the results in yet with the Acetone on the Se because I don't drive it much at the moment. The mileage that i have on it since the Acetone and the remaining fuel indicates that the mileage is around 25-26 being a combination of Highway/city with about 85% City driving. :-)

Home depot/Lowes/Ace hardware are the best places to get it. Have not seen it in any of the Shucks or Napas.
Home depot/Lowes have the best deals. Around $15.00 a gallon. If you buy it in the smaller quarts it winds up costing about $20-$24 a gallon.

I actually tried in on my Honda and there was no appreciable difference. It didn't go down but at the same time it didn't go up.

I logged it as well before and after and I didn't find it to be 5% or better using acetone.

FYI, I tried
1 oz/10 ga
1.5 oz/10 ga
2 oz/10 ga

No appreciable difference. Mind you, I get anywhere from 30-34MPG on my car. I didn't see it get any better, maybe 35MPG tops, but that's it.

Congrats for those who it worked for but I think if you're already at the efficiency of what the engine can do, I don't think acetone will help.

You have hit the nail on the head. Hondas are generlly very efficent engines to begin with.
My Dodge truck however apparently was not.:-)
