I'm so excited!
Guess who will be driving a Nissan GT-R at SCCA Solo Nationals?
That's right, this chick.
I am so excited. Laurie was looking for another female to dual drive (read tire warmer, class filler) with her for national tour in Packwood and at the National event in Lincoln, NE in Sept and so I took her up on the offer. It's 2009 GT-R, chipped, on Hoosiers.
Chris - you are awesome. thanks for being so supportive.

So I know why they call it Godzilla. Wow!! Indescribably fast, very flat - handles like a dream, sticky tires, incredible brakes and Laurie was right, easy to drive. I was shaking like a drank 5 pots of coffee when I got done driving it. It is an incredible machine with an amazing roar, literally throws you back into the seat when you hit the gas; like nothing I've ever been in before. I took 3rd place out of 3 in the ASPL class last weekend, but was able to get dialed into the car over the 6 runs. On day one (first time ever driving the car) I was 2.5 and 3 seconds off of my other competitors. Day two .9 sec and and .6 sec so huge improvements and I really found the gas pedal. We are going to enduro in a couple weeks so i'm hoping to be able to get even more familiar so I can be competitive at nationals and hopefully win Laurie some tires. My competition at nationals as of now anyway are a SC lotus elise track prepped, and a corvette and GT-R
Chris did great single driving the Mcoupe at tour. He could have used a tire warmer, but had a good time. It was a really fun event and we are looking forward to doing it again next year. The level of competition was fierce but the fun factor just the same. The local fire department hosted a banquet for us and local vendors provided free wine and beer - couldn't drink too much though as needed to be at the top of our game for day two. You drive a different course each day and the combination of times is your score for the weekend. Only 3 runs so that puts course walking and visualization into a whole new category. We both really need to work on being faster on our first runs.
Here are a couple photos. I will have some video of my runs and will post that up when i get it.

You are low on power
Hard to compare really. The GT-R is so freaking fast I couldn't really absorb everything that was going on. But, it does push a bit more that yours did and being that it's all wheel drive I had to get used to not being able to use the rear as a tool to get the car where it needed to be. I would say handling wise they were equivalent or yours is slightly better. Your steering is a lighter (the car too) and quicker. I believe we were running it on stock suspension with the hoosiers (love those!). Considering it's weight it felt very nimble (3770 lbs). ON low speed slaloms I could feel the heaviness but that was only one spot on the course.
I would buy an set-up rx-8 (or that EVO i drove) as a potential track car, whereas the GT-R was super fun to drive and I would do it again in a heartbeat , I really didn't walk away from the car wanting to buy one, everything about it is overwhelming and my arms were tired from woman-handling it.

I have not driven one, but I did start up a black gtr and rev in up over and over
