That's big can of worms, it can either be simple or your going to have to replace everything. Can you be more specific and youor best bet is Atkin's.

Im pretty sure atkins doesnt not work on car. I called them and asked and they told me that dont work on cars, they refered me to a guy in Tumwater Named Lopy @ Import Auto Repair. Just give Atkins a call and ask if they know a good shop in your area.

Mazdatech on Mukilteo Speedway is your best local bet. If they don't work Stage Performance in Kirkland is the next closest place I would recommend

Search the forum, learn something, do it yourself. (That is, if you want it done right.)

+1 read the FSM and do it yourself.

What does it do when it dies? Sputter? Just shut off?
Does it start right back up? Does it take awhile for it
to start back up? Can you tell if your car is overheating
at all?

Without more info it could be anything from a grounded wire to a full rebuild.....

i dont think its overheating... my PFC shows the hottest it gets is 85 c .....
and when it dies it just turns off. only the motor everything stays on , radio, lights , everything..
runs a little rough tho ,, spudders / little back fires,,
and it will not turn back on rite away... its like it floods when it dies...
and i have to de-flood it to get it started again...

I kinda had that same problem in my car after i got the PFC. Had to mess with the injetor % and timing so it wouldn't die when i decelerate. Is your PFC tuned for your mods?

Troubleshooting Experts

Nobody on this forum seems to ever mention Lee Johnson Mazda in Kirkland. Talk to the service manager, Scott Trail there. He has a couple of guys there, Doc Westlund in particular, who are top notch troubleshooters, and really know these cars. I have never had a problem that Doc couldn't find in short order. They have always treated me right. Of course I have only had 1st gen cars, but these guys know RX-7s.

Of course if you insist on an independent shop, Jerry Wright in Kent is as good as anyone in the business.

I would say however much of a pain it is doing it yourself it is the only way to get it done correctly. and you wont have to worry about someone telling you to replace something if its not necessary to replace.. i went to a shop once and only once, they said i had a radiator leak.. it leaked a drop of water every week.. i still have the same radiator.. lol

You guys crack me up with this GTUs Killer stuff...... But really, I didn't really buy Mazda Tech, Andy was closing down and I'm taking over the shop. I'm keeping the Mazda Tech name for a short time but I will not be focusing my efforts on Mazdas. I'm a certified Lexus and Nissan Tech but I will be working on what ever comes through the door to survive. I will gladly work on RX7s and will be offering tube bending and other fabrication work as well. JJR Motorsports will be located there as well and anyone will be welcome to stop by and check out the car.

Racing is just around the corner and I would love any of the RX7 junkies to come and hang out at the track or just come check it out.

www.jjrmotorsports.com Sound Advice in Everett is back on board for another season as well and anyone who goes there for audio and mentions they saw it on the car will get a DEAL! These guys do some really, really nice custom installs.

sounds good. Andy has been a friend of mine for years good luck. I used to live in one of those shitty houses right infront of MT when I was a kid.

Two of the houses aren't bad. They look clean and are well kept. The one with the firewood and all the junk, they aren out of there at the end of this month. Well, you are welcome to stop by after this week, I'll be in there every week day and working on the race car on the weekends to get ready for racing.

The reason nobody suggests the dealers is because they're rarely ever familiar with the 7 and they charge an arm and a leg just to blink at your car. I've never had any good experiences with a Mazda dealer on my car

I went to a dealer once, because I got ripped off on a LSD (it was welded), so I go to the dealer asking them to see if it is a limited slip diff. or not, the mechanic turns the ouput shaft and the other one turned the same direction he says "yep, its a limited slip". Then I tell him its welded inside, (cause I already opened it, but I needed proof in writing that it was in fact not a LSD) he got all huffy puffy and wanted like $35 for 1/2 hour of work, and then decided he could not write a formal letter saying that it was not a LSD. Jackass. And this guy was making $70/hr?!

If anything stay away from Dealers. Sorry not much input.
