I need to Borrow Microscopic Camara.

I need a Small video cam so i can look into the inside of my engine to check apex seals. I cant see anything unless i take the exhaust apart, and even then i cant check out the apex seal Ends. So basicly if someone had a pin hole cam i can put into the engine to check this it would be grreat!

get a mirror and flashlight and look insise the leading plug hole. It will at least tell you if the seal is still in there. you also can check the spring pressure with the eraser end of a pencil.

I know what you want. those cameras are expensive. I talked to an olympas repersenitive to see if I could pick up a deal on a used one for a buddy of mine that races sprint cars. $10000 for a used one. Good luck getting to use one. boy it would save alot of time. Perhaps instead of a flexable scope you may find some one that has a straight one that has a really wide angle. You will also have to put some light in there with a fiber optic light source I beleive. Ive only heard of profetional race theams that use that kind of stuff. It is for the most part portable.

wow yes that is expensive, i hate to tear it apart and find the apex seal was just stuck, I tryed for two days too unstick it, warmed it up twice, and reved it up. Not sure if i need to drive it to unstick it, or if i can sit still and rev it. but so far if it is a stuck apex seal it is not poppin out yet, I did take it on a short drive the other day though, and i gotta tell ya. I forgot what i am missing. makes me want to work harder to get it running. i have had such bad luck with apex seals im affraid of them now, i mean if it happends agian i think im gona drive off a cliff.

What your looking for is called a bore scope if you know any aircraft mechanics you might be able to barrow theres, there not 10g's but they are in the 100's so borrowing one from them still might be a challange.

Can you drive it? Have you been able to even get it upto operating temp?

Hell, if its dead, might as well drive it until it stops smoking and see if some sprited driving helps .

How long did you let the MMO soak in the rotors before you tried starting it the first time?

I let it sit for two or three days. i was really busy and i was not in a hurry so before i left for the weekend i put some mmo in there.. when i got back i turned the engine by hand so it could soke the other apex seal's, I did get it up to operating temp a few times. even drove it around but after it warms up the smoke comes back because of all of the oil in the exhuast, I mean the oil is dripping out of the tail pipes i put so much in.. my mistake but when itsw cold it wont smoke at all. just when the pipes get hot smokes alot, Not as much as when i first started it so im sure its burning off, but i need to get it out on the road a few more times. it seams to me that everytime i start it up it runs smooth for a short time then after few minutes it starts missing agian, not sure if the apex seals are Trying to pop out or not, But if the apex seals are not touching the housing im not sure when is going to pop them out. exept a screw driver (jk) or somthing that wont hurt the engine. other than that it runs cool, no water leaks, coolent seals seem fine, ill know alittle more after i start it up agian and go for a drive.
