I finaly detailed my 2nd gen- ready to go out and play

I like to get some feedback about this thread. I spent 7 hours detailing a second gen. It started with wash- clay bar-wash-wax-wheels detail. Am I slow or what? It has not been done for probly 5 years. My goal was to wax it annually and do a light clean.
I believe I used a wax called mtx by mguires. It is senthetic, goes on nice, comes off nice so we will see how it goes. I have missed alot of the activities do to work or just being tired so I hope to be around more. Some times I just need a reminder. I did nt make it to the last poker run for that reason.
Ok this tread is about the 7 hour wax job. What should I be complaining about... Does any one know what it would cost to get a detail such as I did?

A good detail inside and out not including the engine bay will run you around 200, Maybe a little less. This will include a exterior clean, buff, wax, interior clean with dressing interior and carpet cleaning. That being said it is not worth the 200 IMO. Easier to do it yourself.

Now let's see how your car looks

Some of the pictures are repeats only so I could try different exposures to capture best color and detail. It is amature photograpy.

You did a great job - hope to see you at an event so we can all check it out - Izzy's next monday. I pretty much exclusively use Mequires products with great results every time. Did you do it all by hand - that would suck? or do you have an orbital? Anyway, great work

hand job

I did the job by hand. Hee Hee hand job. If I did the job again by hand this is what I would do. wash-clay bar with the meguiars final inspection- if not perfect then use meguiars clean & wax- then final wax with meguiars nxt. The lower panels needed #4 cleaner to get to par. My goal was to remove water spots and mild oxidation with out cutting into the paint much.
One day I will buy a profesional buffer that rotates at low speed.

Administrator please remove #6 on this thread

It is totally useless space... I looked for a practice on the drop bar but I did not see one. I entered #6 and it is a bad mistake. people may continue to see photos on that one and give up. thank you very kindy Administrator.
