I actually own a -7 again!!

Well, picked up my new car today for 500 after tax and stuff. Here's the specs for those that are interested.

Blue 1985 GS with 89,000 miles. (wow!) grey cloth interior. (perfect except for a hole in the driver's side door pannel.)

Everything is orriginal on it, and there's not even a door ding!! Needs a new paint job, though, cause the paint is faded. I'm thinking it was a sunday driver for a long time and whoever it was was small and light, cause there's very little wear on the seats. (no fat *** drove it.)

All that was wrong with it was a low battery and the choke cable was broken. I replaced the cable. (Thanks Brian!!) and then I jump started it after pouring a cap of MMO in the carb for extra lube and compression.

there's very little gas in the tank. It starts up just fine now, but it won't rev up much past 3.5k. I'm thinking it's prolly a combination old gas, little gas, and a clogged fuel filter. Might be a clogged cat too, cause it's quiet as hell. You can barely hear it run.

If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to throw them at me. I'm getting the filters and stuff tomorrow and trying to get it running properly. Need to get it registered, too.

I've got a new -7!!! Whoo Hoo!! Hopefully I'll be taking it to ABF!!

If someone brought over a camera, I could do that. My ex took my camera, and I'm not buying another one any time soon.

Brian- no prob trying to get that RB Header setup on your car.

Well, I'll be blunt. I broke it.

The carb wasnt shooting much fuel in, so I did the old trick where you put your hand over the carb to let it suck the crap out of the inside. Yeah, it completely clogged the carb... won't squirt any fuel at all now.

Greg is supposed to be bringing his old Nikki over tonite, so we're gonna try to get it started with that carb.

Keith and I already swapped out the fuel filter, so that's not an issue. Wondering if it could be the fuel filter too... If I remember right, the series 3 has the fuel pump wired wierd... Doesn't work when just on in the accy mode.

Nice... what carbs are available for the rotary? If you are looking to get a new carb, definately find one that has a cheater plate made for it... makes nitrous alot easier to play with

Ack... this just means that we will need to be creative

RX-7 n00b question, is the Nikki the only carb that fits on the 12a? Since it is such a tiny little engine, I have no idea what all is available...

Edit: I just did a search for "Nikki 12a" and came up with a bunch of sites that have the Paris Hilton video... and a bunch of **** related to Nikki (her sister?). Funny ****... on a gov. computer...

they make a setup to replace the nikki with the Holley, but the Holley isn't very good around corners or at high rpm...

You can really mod the nikki a lot to get more power out of it.

If you're creative enough, you can plumb the nitrous in through the phenolic spacer. At least that's my plan. It's thick enough, and goes right into the flow.

It's a really nice lookin' 7, but it needs a paint job which I told him I'd help out with... everything works in the interior, and the whole thing looks great... just needs some more gitty up and go power... hint hint nudge nudge...
