ok so i wanna resurect this thread, id really like 2 be able 2 go out or organize a drive with a bunch off ppl including the opposite sex n really get to know the diversity in the rotary community. so with that i would like 2 welcome all the rotary ladies 2 post up in this thread so we silly boys can get to know some girls who like the wankel just as much as we do.

 

rx7 dj, i wanna see the volvo wagon BEAST munch on some FC's at the next meet! or better yet, have it hit up 58th. oh yea nice lil discussion we had while we waited for the wimps at mcdonalds today.

 

Well I don't know about the other ladies, but I go to most of the drives, meets, dynos and racing around here.

A word of advice for the guys, if you guys want your gals to become more interested, invite her to come to things, especially things like drives where you can have QT; engage her in conversations about your projects (don't assume we don't want to know); ask her for help; don't bring her to an event/meet for the first time and abondon her, introduce her to folks.

Have her drive your car - fast, go to the track, do a driving school, like the one BSCC offers to novice autocrossers or the BMWCCA, PCA or ALFA skills day. PCA even has a ladies only day (which I'll be attending on the 1st). There are lots of gals who race and race well here in the PNW and we love having new gals involved. Don't be mad when she's faster than you. Also, you may lose some access to your garage.

Get her on the forums so she can read all the drama Keep in mind that women/girls are generally discouraged from knowing about "car" stuff or getting dirty from a young age as it's not very feminine, and women that do know a lot about them are generally seen by their peers as tomboys at best. Also, that most guys really don't like gals that know more than them or drive faster than them or at least that's the impression we are under.

uhhhh...u know wats funny? she does drive faster the a lot of the guys at the bscc events. even got to sit shot gun with her. geez michelle no kidding here- on your launch from the starting gate i literally lost the feeling in my ***. and get this, after the passing the finish gate and checks her time, she says "crap!" cuz her time was higher. lol! (sorry it must have been my dead asian weight in the passenger seat that slowed you down) i gotta give her and her quick little FB props. oh and thanks again for the ride! ^_^
