HOLY **** I'm BACK
LoL,
Thought that would get some of your alls attention. Well to start things off, Melissa and I are back together and happy once again. We are going down the path for marriage, so we will see how that goes. Melissa has been missing Queeny (the yellow one) for way to long, and though I miss the 7's as well, i'm content with my non-maintenance escort.
I've been looking here and there for the 7's for her, and well found one this evening. The listing was a 1984 Rx7 GSL. It has it's downs as well as it's ups. A major down being that it is Automatic, but we will get back to that later. The body is perfect, not a scratch, and the interior is all stock and all there. Exterior is a Dark Grey/red interior.
I got this car on a smoking deal, but the problem is that it smokes. So I need your alls help. This car was purchased in both Melissa's and my name, but it is going to be her car. So nooooo don't worry about me destroying another one.
It's an automatic. It's been sitting for about 2 months. The guy who sold it to me knows nothing about rotary's. It drives nice and smooth and runs decent. Again the problem is the smoke. A normal Rx7 Smokes here and there, this one is HELLA bad. It's a white/blueish smoke, a bit hard for me to see though as it was night.
Anything past about 45mph, theres no smoke, but as soon as I let off the gas pedal white smoke billows out the rear end. The muffler and tips are somewhat wet with some kind of fluid.... possible oil?
I was thinking about a possible coolant leakage past the seals, but i ruled that out, as the smoke somewhat smells like fuel. So let me know what you all think we should do.
Other things to note that may help..
Car is in Ellensburg and will be registered there, meaning Emissions are not a worry. Should we take off all emissions? would this help the car run smoother?
The car is completly stock other that the fact that the previous owners buddy punched one of the cats, as it was clogged.
I'm sure it needs oil change, rear diff change, tranny/coolant flush, and all this will be done soon, as well as a good tune up. Inside the car we found 2 NGK spark plugs that were pretty fouled up, also making me believe it's fuel related.
Only pics of the car are the ones i took at 11pm this evening.
Any idea's on the smoke issue would be great, when it is driving it acts as if it's litterally on fire kind of smoke. HELLA
If we can figure out the smoke issue maybe we will see ya'lls at a meet sooner or later

its supposed to do that
WOOT!! welcome the **** back man!!, i have an 84gsl parts car if you need parts, your motor sounds like a bad oil control seal, i had that happen on my 12a. i would run just fine, but if you rev it you get oily smoke. its gonna be a rebuild, but if you do it yourself its only a days work. if the apex seals and side seals are good you just need to replace the soft seals. ill send you a rebuild DVD if you want, so you can see how to do it.

oh, yeah get over to nopistons, most of the old NW is over there now

Yeah I'm back. So glad too. I love my new car-thanks Ben! It is perfect except for that smoking issue...Insta fog machine for the entire city~~~
Thanks for the suggestions, I will try some of them asap. I'm going to put some tranny fluid in b/c its really low, I don't know if that will help the smoke, but it needs it anyway. Whats really wierd is that yes this is auto tranny but so WAS Queenie. Switched her over, as we are about to do on my new car.
Can't wait to bring her to the next Izzies. Probably not this month but perhaps next.
