Hmm... I'm considering trading my TII for an N/A...
What do you guys think? I'm not really into speeding etc. right now, and I really just a want a clean N/A, that handles good, looks good, is fun to work on...
I figure that someone would trade me for a clean N/A FC... I wonder if anyone in the NW would be willing to consider my "offer"...
I've had a base '87 N/A, an '88 Turbo II, a '90 convertible and I currently have an 87.5 Turbo II... For some reason I'm longing for N/A powah and better gas-milage. Also, the LACK of power would do good in reducing temptation.
Hmmmmmm... Imput?

I dunno man... I just feel like an N/A! I think it would make my life easier, LOL.
Regardless, if I do go through with this, I'll probably just get another TII this summer. I can't stay away too long.

The only beating I'd be doing would be beating your Rx7!!!
The story on the Turbo II (taken from my 2nd gen. for sale thread)
87.5 Turbo II with about 140k miles on the chassis, a clean title and about 15k miles on the rebuilt motor. The motor was rebuilt using RA apex-seals, high-compression 9.4:1 N/A rotors and was street-ported.
Mods:
Rebuilt
street-ported
9.4:1 rotors
intake
80mm DP/MP mated to a (dual) N1 cat-back exhaust
Walbro 255 fuel-pump
750cc secondary injectors
R-Tek 1.7 chip
Greddy Profec-B boost controller
FD alternator
emissions removed
Mazdatrix S/S oil-cooler lines AND OMP lines
Mazdatrix oil-filter pedestal
Autometer oil-press., oil-temp., coolant temp., boost and A/F gauges
clean grey/black interior
5 spoke, semi-dish, 18" wheels with new Falken tires
Full s5 body conversion
great working A/C
manual-rack
The only real negative things about this car is it's lack of paint (ugly fading primer, lol), It's dented rear-quarter panel area that can be easily repaired, it's difficult manual steering-rack and it's stock suspension. Also, there's no CD player and the interior lights don't work.
I've also got a new turbo, Thunderfab DP/MP, TurboXS dual-horn BOV and 2571 Engineering block-off plates on the way!!!

FYI, perhaps I need to explain what I called a "dented rear-quarter panel"... It's the area right behind the pass. door (in front of the wheel, not above) that doesn't effect the 'lines' of the car. The dent has been pulled, but it needs to be finished. Most of it is actually covered by the Series 5 sideskirts that I just bought... There's a 10"x10" area that needs to be smoothed.
Whatever, I'll have pics up soon enough.
Also, it's just the OVERHEAD interior lights that don't work... Every other light/gauge/wiper position etc. works.

I wasn't saying yours is beat, just that it would take a beat to death TII to make me go back to n/a. And see your post you love your car to much to get rid of it. KEEP IT!
Just don't go nuts
You can go too far with N/A as well. Believe me, I know! I started off with a clean, streetable/mild n/a. From there it went to stripped emissions and some other stuff, plus straight piped exhaust and ebay mufflers (loud). Then a ported motor and coilovers and massive weight reduction with no sound deadening anymore, that was fun for a while but not enough. Then bridgeported, standalone, extreme exhaust porting, single exhaust, custom intake, built for 10k rpm operation, and so on. And well, there's a free n/a shell here if you want it!
Yah... N/A's are cool man, seriously. To be honest, I'm an N/A guy. I don't really have a desire for turbo, I loved how my N/A drove and rev'd up. I really love how my rx8 is too in N/A form, will NEVER turbo or supercharge it. Eventually I'm planning on getting a 1st gen with 2nd gen s5 N/A motor with a nice streetport (no bridgey this time), and keep it more mild and streetable. Nothing like predictable N/A power... almost no detonation issues to worry about unless you go INSANE on tuning, and good mileage. I love it

I can't decide if going to N/A is the dark-side, or going turbo is the dark-side.I swear I'm having a *minor* identity crisis... I don't know if I'm an N/A or a turbo guy...
I think I love the turbo, because it's a TURBO... But I love the N/A for it's rotary purity... You'd THINK that the combination would be a hands-down grand-slam, with a turbo rotary... But it's just not that simple. LOL

I will say, that this "N/A" has to be really clean and fit my preference, OR come with some decent cash.
I have an 87 N/A thats pristine other than one small tear on the drivers seat edge and thats it. im the 3rd owner 109k original chassis miles, new clutch, motor was rebuilt at 70k, very very clean N/A. Willing to look into a possible trade for a TII. let me know if youre interested and i'll try to post some pictures.... Grant-

not by much but it is so sad for me
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the car also has a rear CP racing 4pt. strut-bar, all of the gauges have aluminum bezels and there are both an aftermarket black leather shift-boot and E-brake boot. Not to mention the interior also has an s5 center-surround and shift-surround.

so keep your car and use my 12a and I will take that 13bt and put it in my baja instead of the 12a. I just got a killer 48dcoe and rb intake for it. I was just plannin on turboing the 12a. Hell I will even swap it all for you.
to be honest i dont find that much of a "gas saving" when compairing my Na and a turbo, if driven properly they can get very close to the same gas milage.
also i find on my turbo car since it does have alot more power, i dont have to floor it everywhere i go.... lol and im also not flooring it for as long to get up to what ever speed i was tring to reach
i
f u want your turbo to be a NA , wire the waste gate open and then VOILA!!! its mostly NA....
