help please!

i just bought a 87 rx non turbo, the car ran great well taken care of. one day i move the car down near my house so that i could switch stereo's and next day car would not start. i know it is not the starter or the fuel filter both are new, the plugs get spark (shocked my dad) im sure the fuel pump is feedin fuel because we pulled the plugs and turned it over and out came some fuel. the car acts like it is trying to turn over, but just does not get all the way over. weve tried some starting fluid but hardly helped. the last attempt we tried we got the car to start but it would act like this...it would start up, run for 5 seconds clean then die. over and over again. i dont know much about rotary engines so any help if someone could i could pay, or advice please help!
