to the 16 year old, take it from ME (17 years old) If you dont know how and dont have a place to really practice, dont try to become some fast and furious drift king bullshit because ive seen a lot of kids **** up their cars and then get stuck having a POS that they cant repair because they dont make nearly enough money to back up what it takes to have a drift car and these are seriously mechanically inclined kids, one of my friends went to Skills USA and placed really high but his 240 remains under a car cover in his driveway. I think he was able to get it driveable twice this year.

simply put. wait until your 18, have a better job, and have fun within reason because not having a license due to too many tickets will bite you in the *** hard and deep later on. Once again take it from me lol

How far do you want to go? The roads I take my Subaru for
paved rally are ridiculous. Some bitching corners, pavement
is rough, and you will need spare sets of tires. Course there
are 30-210ft drop offs too, so if you don't know what you're
doing DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT IT You will kill yourself.

Period.

That being said.

....
And if you people are into offroad rally racing like me. This
is my Favourite dirt course, it is psychotic at any speed.

Your Sixteen? Jesus, stick to learning how to drive in traffic.
When you're in your mid twenties, pick up motorsports. You
will have more tickets learning the "Basics" if you start now,
not knowing how to drive, and getting in trouble. Than you
will later when you know which one is the brake. Kids.....

Tweak and I are calling you an idiot but.....

Anyway, I'm saying as almost double your age and driving rally
for more years than you've been on this planet. Drive nice and
tidy on the road first. When you get older, and have a better
source of income, then get into motorsports. It's expenive, it's
really really expensive. Every other time I track my car, either
at AutoX or at Rally, something breaks. Sometimes multiple things
break. I'm into my Mazda over 14k right now, and it doesn't run.
It's just the tip of the iceburg too, because I have another ~20K
lined up. Then what will happen? I'll drive it, flip it, break it, or
twist it and will need another 35k setup. Times that by two cars.

I could honestly give a **** about your 'skills', or what kind of
events you've done, for better or worse. I'm offering you sound
advice from someone who has been building performance cars
since the early nineties. If you want to learn, or want to sharpen
those skills. Get a SOLID grip of basics first, I wasn't joking when
I said to learn which one is the brake, I've fucked that one up
before and ended up flipping my car 5 times. You should spend
a good 4 years driving in all kinds of traffic before you try to go
out and drift, or autocross, or rally race. You need to learn how
to predict cars and their drivers before you try to get your car
to do things it was not originally built to do.

If you think I'm being a dick, go **** yourself. I could give a ratshit
about some punk kid. If you're willing to listen to advice that some
of the more senior members here have to offer, then listen to it
and don't get snippy about it when we give you a hard time. You
need to remember that some of us do this every chance we get,
and have places set aside specifically for it. That most of us that
do this have been in terrifying car wrecks because of it, have lost
huge amounts of money, and are telling you to keep it safe and
simple for a bit. if you need to go out and play, take a friend, do
NOT let them stay in that car when you're doing whatever it is you
are doing. He is your lifeline if you **** up. If you'd like to find a
few places around Spokane I suggest driving out of your way, stay
out of populated area were you are likely to get yourself or some
one else killed.

Drive to Idaho, or better yet, drive out to some of the forestry roads
on a Friday night, and camp till Sunday. That is how I found my roads
in my last post, it was not a one day thing and you should plan around
it. Two good solid days of activities are MUCH MUCH more constructive
than two hours every day for a week. You can compare laps / techs
this way. Plus you get the chance to have no distractions around you.
When learning a new road take a minimum of four slow passes before
you attempt anything, I really suggest four in each direction. I do this
and swear by it. That being said, good luck, and be safe. Please.

ewbernewb, I know enough. You are a 16 year old, with his first old *** falling apart stock 100 hp FB, that want's to go drifting. Honestly, I have seen your posts, and you don't know what you are getting yourself into. I gave you a spot, somewhat close, not like you have seen any other really good places. But hey, your a pro, go out and go head out and drift old spiral highway. PLEASE record it so you can show us your amazing skills. Let me know the day before you do it so I can have a tow truck waiting.

I'm sorry. but you are an idiot, you are just like all the other noobs. The first thing you do is look for a body kit, porting templates, (bridge port may I add), and wants to go drifting. You just have no clue. You don't understand now, but we are helping you, because you seriously have NO clue what so ever right now. If we were to tell you, you are amazing, you know everything, and you are ready to go drift, we would be hurting you.

i agree with everything he said. i wasnt trying to be an ******* when i told you pick a kmart etc. i was telling you is WAY late at night go there. open parking lot in back no body around, no distractions, maybe some cops but sometimes they just tell you to go home. to my experance aslong as you dont leave your trash everywhere soem places wont mind/know. another reason why i said a parking lots cus if you lose control and you will, you will only spin out. no falling off a cliff, no damage to your car. yes drifting is very expensive VERY expensive. and when ehime told you to get some experance i agree with him take nick hogan for example he killed his buddy cus he was drifting in a VIPER. he was only 16 turning 17 i think and killed his buddy in the process. but we all gave you our opinions take them as you will. this forum started by you asking a question about where to drift. I and a few other told you and if you dont like it then dont ask.

Dude calm down, your being pretty immature about this and coming from a kid a year older that's a sign you need to stop n think.. Everyone is just trying to help whether you think they're being ******** or not, they gave you spots and gave you great advice if it were me I'd say thanks and shut up

But hey give me a call if you ever come over here I just went to family fun center with my senior class and the go karts there get sideways pretty easy

this thread sucks
<end>

there are plenty of legal tracks and plenty of not so legal places to drive fast, being young comes with no experience to know where to go, go drive until you find a sweeet road or a race track, just remember you live in the middle of butfuck nowhere, meaning no cell phone service when you put your car in the ditch, so choose wisely, i say track.

Ok, kids..
Here's some info on a Drift event in Yakima on Jun 21st. Check it out. Looks like $25 bucks to drift all day, go out and have some fun, this event will give you the chance to have a safe experience.

^ Lol'd @ Oh kids.....! Poor flustered Lloyd.

My paternal instincts are kicking my *** right now.....
But I think I need to point out the fact that everyone
in this conversation is older than you. Some of us twice
as old as you (lol Lloyd ) If you wanna gun your car,
do it at a legally sanctioned race. I can't recommend
any places to a kid just starting that won't get you
into a shitstorm of trouble.

I still stick firmly by keep driving in traffic, you'll find five
times more backroads by yourself than what any of us
are willing to tell you. Let me get a little 'Yoda' here and
say, that you don't 'find' the best streets, they'll eventually
find you. Sounds stupid, but its completely true.
