That's not for the oil pressure i don't think. Its some sort of a ground for the Tran with a Noise FIlter... I took mine off Years ago

the oil sending unit is Under the oil Filter.. if you still have a Rotary...

I broke that off one of my multiple rotary install, it indeed is a resisted ground for the oil pressure gauge, if I remember correctly. I looked it up like 4 years ago. I run prosport oil pressure gauges now, (and if you are running the ls1, I REALLY recommend you don't use the stock gauge) but if you really wanted to make the stock oil pressure gauge work, you should be able to just ground the wire out. It helped lower the oil pressure gauge from getting spikes and breaking it.

I went through quite a few stock oil pressure gauges, they are really fragile and sensitive.
If you need help installing a different oil pressure sending unit in the LS1 PM me, it's stupid simple / cheap. Mounts right in the back of the LS1 behind the intake.
