Help

Ok i cant figure this out I was coming home from work today and and i downshifted to second from third and took my foot off the gas and my car died then when i tried to start it it wouldnt but when some one pushed me and i tried is started and when i took my foot off the gas it died again any ideas anyone?

From: spokane
check for leading and trailing spark
check for compression by listening to the motor(crank with one trail plug out)
make sure you have fuel

I know its fuel. it only starts if its push started now. it was boggin on the way home and i shifted into second and it bogged for a sec then shot up in rpms then i shifted to third and all ways good then when i let off the gas it died.
