Having Withdrawls
Let me give you a little background. About 5 months ago I was living in Tacoma. My friend called me up and said that her dad had a job for me in Point Roberts. I'm sure most of you have never heard of Point Roberts, and I'm not surprised. It's a small town on the borber of Canada, with no access to the rest of the state without going through Canada first. I was told I had 3 days to get up there if I wanted the job. I accepted and moved. At that time I had just picked up a motor for my 83 FB from Jeff20b. So I couldn't get my car running in time to take it with me. When I moved to the point I was under the impression that I would be coming back to Tacoma to see family and to work on my car every weekend or at least every other weekend. Since then I have only been back a hand full of times. This last time has been about a month since my last trip. Things keep coming up or my room mate decides she just doesn't want to go. Working on my car is my stress reliever. She let's me work on her car sometimes, but it's mostly just maintenance. It's not as stress relieving when it's not my own car. I'm really starting to get more irritable than normal. I hate being 4 hours away from my baby. I'm so close to starting her up for the first time in almost a year. My wire tuck is almost complete. I want to hear that beautiful rotary music again. Sorry guys. I just needed a place to vent. My room mates arent really into cars at all and they get irritated when I talk about them so I figured I would come somewhere where there are others that understand.

I've been getting the same way lately. I need to get to work on my REPU! Stupid weather and prior commitments are keeping me from it.
Hey man, would you like a tuned DCOE at some point? After I do an engine swap in Percent's car when he goes EFI, his R5 is all mine. That means I can part it out or keep it all together. The engines are almost identical. That means if he tunes the carb for NA use before we pull the engine, that same tune should work 99% for your engine too! It's still currently boost prepped but he kept whatever jets, air correctors etc are needed to go back to NA, which will all go with the carb, including the boost prepping parts I assume. Nice setup!
It's just a thought. Another option is a Racing Beat Holley 600 that I test ran on that engine before. I just needed an RB intake manifold. Didn't have one so I used a carb adaptor on a stock manifold. It flowed almost as well as a true RB manifold and let me see how the carb would work. Not bad, but the choke wasn't hooked up so a little cold blooded. Also the exhaust was too small for any kind of high RPM power lol. That's getting fixed (header) as soon as the weather gets better.
I also have an edlebrock 600 but have only tested it on a Camden so far. I'm about to test it on just a camden manifold with an adaptor plate. If it works this will allow us to get his EFI engien running on a carb first so he can take his time learning how to use the Megasquirt I got from you.
Just some goings on in my world. Maybe brighten your day a little.

I got something to TOP everyones story, Ive been in iraq for almost a year now and left my FC back at home at my parents place! i came home for leave in jan. for 2 weeks, fixed the battery terminal, fixed that irritating coolant sensor that makes our cars buzz for absolutely no reason haha Heres the kicker though! i get home in less then 3 weeks now, i just found out a few days ago that my dad started it up and washed it and let it run for a while, went and parked it back in the grass lot aside his house and went inside. next thing he knows, fire trucks are coming up his street to put out MY burning FC! I did how ever just buy an FD and will be picking that up the day i get home but i loved my 2nd gen of course. i feel like its rebuildable though, from the pictures it looks like the fuel injectors were leaking cause its mostly the top right half of the engine bay that is burnt and gooey, there was not a burn mark in my interior but the fire department decided to fill it with fire extinguisher anyways....it was spotless mint condition interior, no joke. So im going from withdrawals to overdosing cause i def. have my work cut out for me, not to mention im obviously going to have to work on the FD a little here and there. Its solid, just minor upgrades for now.
