Guy tries to rob bank with a pen!

It happened not too long ago, I believe sometime this month. Well anyways, as the title says, he tried or did rob a bank in seattle. I was wondering if any of you locals heard about this and can give any info. It was my dumbass druggy uncle that did it.

I think it was on the news, sounds familiar maybe, but I can't remember because I wasn't paying attention.

yah well, he's locked up in one of many SF county jails awaiting charges here in Cali, after that he will be extradited back to seattle to go before a federal court. Anyone else know anything? The whole thing is pretty funny.

he's always in jail, scamming people, or just getting in trouble. everyone in the family thought he was dead, so we thought good no more troubles from him. Then the other day we get a message on the recorder, "This is a collect call from, Johny, an inmate at the San Francisco County Jail. To accept this call push...." and everyone was like "damn he's still alive. We finally found out why and we still laugh about it. we get atleast 5 of those calls a day.

Damn dude that's nuts. Although, I know what it's like to have hardships in the family. Hopefully you all will have some closure some day.

People rob banks with pens everyday...they write a note and hand it to the teller, demanding money. Quite more usual than weilding a gun and shouting "this is a robbery". Having an actual gun, in any case, will get you a much harser sentence and is no more effective, since the tellers are trained to cooperate and let the Feds handle it after the fact.

it's not just the fact of robbing a bank, it's what he did after that, fleed back to CA. crossing state lines after committing an offense makes it become federal, although robbing a bank is already a federal offense
