If anyone gives a rip, i have most of the supercharger mount made and I also have a 5" six rib serpentine pulley mounted to my engine. The supercharger has a 4" serpentine pulley so it will give it a slight overdrive, just like on the Millenia S engine. Time to fab up the tensioner pulley, oil lines, intake plenum that the Crown Victoria 65mm throttle body will mount to, mount the fmic, make the supercharger air discharge tube, stock throttle body inlet tube, and get a haltech!

The supercharger sits a little above the spark plugs on the driver side of the engine, just below the brake booster. It looks like it's made for the installation, a perfect fit. Damn my digicam! I need to take some pics, u guys would love to see the fab job on the s/c mount.

I snuck some pics of it in my other thread about tires. It's mountable and beltable, fmic is in, but I need to make the oil feed and drain lines, install an aftermarket ecu, and make some intercooler pipes.





I just finished soldering up the megasquirt ECU, now I have to make its harness and test it out while the car is still NA.

killer, looks like it will be a beastly setup... my friggin motor started burning oil hardcore today... i called dan as soon as i saw the smoke... it doesn't burn it at cruising rpm's, its not till roughly 4000 or 5000 rpm... so i've been taking it easy, but it burns oil for about a minute and a half on a cold start...

I can't find manufacture data on the supercharger so I don't know how fast I can spin it. If it doesn't explode when turning 10k rpm (about how fast it will spin when the engine hits 8k), everything should be fine. I think the screws have a 1:4 and 1:5 step up gear ratio, meaning the faster one would see roughly 50k rpm when the rotary sees 8k. Scary stuff!

I just saw where you posted it, thanks! I might need more overdrive (smaller nose pulley) but it's good to know that the charger can take 15k rpm, that's REAL good to know.

Not to interupt your thread here, but Ive offered Rotortuner to race Blue. Offer still stands anytime. 1/4 mile. I seriously don't think my car is an embarassment, and if some feel it is, then don't look at it. Problem here is that I dare to try something different. Sometimes thats costly and takes time especially running into a couple crappy shops a long the way, but I'll tell ya now owning a Turbo and a Supercharged car, I do not regret having the Supercharged car. Like all of us we get frustrated with our cars, but Im not a quiter, and will keep going till I get it right. I might have to change Superchargers, but bottom line is I enjoy my car and thats all that counts. Ive considered making Blue Turbo'd, but honestly the Supercharged car is a lot more fun than the Turbo'd car. I also never claim to be better than anyone else. I respect everyones car for what they have or what they challenge to do with their cars.

Any trailer park dweller can take $3500 and a bunch of beer cans, and make horsepower. I think what you fail to realize is that all that money didn't go into just parts. A lot of it was cosmetic, panasports aren't a cheap wheel. You should prolly just come kill the codeblues because they didn't build the car the way you would have.
BTW, I have a $1500 dollar suburban I'll race you in. We'll see who's embarrased when they're pulling thier dumb *** out of a pancaked rx7.

Yes, obviously the point of installing a supercharger is to gain power, but not always an immediate gain. I've known several people who've put a supercharger on the motor before it was even in the car, and nobody thrashed on them because thier car wasn't sitting parked "faster". With a piston motor, most of the supercharger bugs have been worked out. With rotaries, it's still experimental. I'm probably speaking a bit out of turn here, but oh well. I think the goal with the codeblue car wasn't to create an instant, huge horsepower gain, but more a long term project. The car may not be done for a few more years, but I bet when it is finally finished, it produces a very pleasing amount of horsepower. Also, remember that horsepower doesn't always tell the tale. My car dyno'd at a measely 90 rwhp, where richard_miller pulled 105 rwhp (I think), yet I still take him in the 1/4 mile everytime. I think when the codeblue car is done, you'll be able to park it next to any 1st gen on this forum, and it'll be the show winner, and have good numbers to match. There's a difference between making your car fast, and completely reworking an entire car.

I can't speak for everyone but the point of my project is to add power without changing the personality of the ported NA rotary. Turbo is great, really a rush when done right, but you don't feel the same connection with the engine when its power is at the mercy of the rotational inertia of the impeller and compressor. Superchargers disappear and leave only a whine and more torque at all rpm points as a clue to their presence. They don't make quite as much power as turbo, but then again you don't have much to show for your rotary efforts either.......

Yeah the whole having a girlfriend thing.....oh yeah and the whole going to a university thing kinda take precedence over an old car that believe it or not DOES NOT represent every waking hour of my life LOL. So I guess you can say that my "rotary efforts" pale in comparison to your own my Rotary Master. You should look into getting laid as it can be more enjoyable than working on cars.

I'll tell you what, give me 5 times what I have ever paid for a car ($4000) and then we can compare hp and torque numbers. I have never claimed to have a faster car than you, I have merely pointed out the fact that Rotortuner certainly does. The bottom line is that a properly built turbocharged RX-7 will take your car (with any supercharger you wish) whether on the track or the street.

If you really want to improve the track times of your "really fast" car, have your wife drop a couple hundred pounds.....oh yeah have a nice day.

Never heard so much whining and bitching. Build your car and love it for what it is. I think damn near every rotary is unique because compared to all of the piston engines on the road there are VERY few rotary powered vehicles. I am sick of how many people start **** on the forums. People love to start **** when they have the internet between them, no worries about physical confrontation. For the most part I love this group, and it is great to get to meet people in person (ABF, tech days, Izzy's). There is just a few people that are easily offended. Just thought I would get my .02 in before this thread gets deleted... As it should!
