got a coil. got spark plugs. cant find neg signal wire

ok i am doing what kettle did on his car, I got the coil. plugs. and extra ground for exuast. Positive is hooked up and when i tap negative wire to the battery i get spark, the problem is kettle has a first gen and i have a second, and i cant find the negative coil wire that picks up the signal for spark., would anyone know where it is or have a photo of the wire?

sounds like he's putting a spark plug in the exhaust to make "fake" flames.

Check the FSM, it has wiring diagrams, should be able to answer your question.

I however don't have an answer for you, but shouldn't take long to find in the FSM, which is free and readily available.

Well once you find it, download it and keep it. It's very helpful. I have 1st gen ones for 80 and 85, 2nd gen s4 and s5, FD, and rx8. They're very helpful for stuff like this.

I thought he was looking for some negative thing?

Black/yellow is a switched 12v from ignition as far as I remember, that's what I have my fan relay tapped into.

EDIT
Errr, I guess I was just confused about how he worded his question. Wasn't totally sure what he was looking for.

OK got it working a few hours ago. good spark in tail pipe now, I used this wire on the LEading coil. it had a bullet connector sticking out, the trailing one didnt work, But anyways i still have no flame. i dont understand its freakin rich now but no flame. So im thinking i dont have enough oxygen to burn out the tail pipes. So im thinking hooking up the air pump might help. But i look down the pipe and there is a nice spark, Just no BOOM! NOW WHAT KETTLE

my guess is its prolly not working cause your cars fuel injected!

im sure your car runs no way near as rich as kettle mans. stock 2nd gen n/a arnt THAT rich.....

i do belive when you let off the gas in a fuel injected car it cuts off most of the fuel? where as in the carborated its still dumping in hella fuel....

no main cat. i think most of the pre cat is blown out. still get some moisture when its cold so maybe there is stil some left. but its super duper rich cause my eyes burn when standing back there. I even Unpluged the trailing coil and still nottin. Owell

If it was too little oxygen then you should be able to light the exhaust after it exits the tail pipe and mixes with the air outside of it. If you run the car for a little while where ever it is rich and try holding an aim and flame to it, you should probably see a flame if you have enough fuel. This all seems like a lot of effort for something that will get you one step closer to the fast and the furious.

it will never be as awsome as kettle mans..

LOL what was really funny was when he did a huge flame for like 10seconds
then the car died from being too rich and fire was still coming out his tail pipe for like another 10 seconds after the car was dead, then when he cranked it it blew the flame out , then it caught fire again lol

I don't understand why you guys want to run so rich, too rich will cause you to lose power, properly tuned with good AFR's will yield better power, better mpg, and an all around better drive.

But if you guys wanna be FATF then go ahead, have fun

Personally I like running normal AFR's and tuning for 13:1 for best power and 17 to 17.5 mpg FULL city driving. But that's just me, I don't really care about flames *shrug*
