F'n theives strike again... WHY!?

Well I was alerted while in the shower this morning that my drivers side window had been punched out. I went out to my car (1990 Honda Accord LX) and there was glass everywhere. There was a blanket laying over the drivers side mirror that I am guessing was used to break the window. The automatic seatbelt was disconnected and the door partially open but nothing was taken. I took care not to touch anything because this time I want prints taken! It has been the 2nd time within a month my car has been broken into and the PD better do what they are paid to. I for some reason decided to put my backpack into my trunk when I got out of school on Thursday and luckily the trunk was not opened. I luckily this time had nothing stolen... Not even the CD player sitting on the side of the e-brake. I have been unable to afford getting comprehensive insurance so I am getting stiffed with getting new window. I have not had a single claim on my insurance and I have had the same insurance for over 3 years but they were not willing to "work" something out for me (that's an insurance company for you alright!). I do not know of anyone local or anyone in general that I have pissed off or that has something against me so I have ruled out that as a possibility. I am happy that nothing important was taken. I had quite a bit of valuable stuff in the trunk (backpack, rotary specific tools, extra misc parts, jumper pack, jumper cables, some tools, hydralic floor jack, 2 Nikki Carbs, a Holley 2bbl, and a 600cfm Holley 4 bbl.). Only good thing I can think of out of this is that nothing was stolen... Time to put my electronics education to good use and make a electro-security system... 14V and 500 Cranking Amps running through your body ainto going to feel good! All I really want is a name. I will go no introduction. I will just ask "are you..." And then a fist straight between the eyes! I am getting rid of this Honda when all is fixed. Anyone wanna trade?

14V won't shock anyone, but you can get battery powered electric fence energizers.

What I'd do if you really want to catch the person is get an alarm with a pager. I'd also make sure you're packing when you bail out of the house to catch the SOB. Take some big tie wraps with you so you can subdue the POS until the cops get there. I lost 4 different car windows at my last house. I've since moved.

suggestion..12 volt inverter 2 switches..one hidden you hook one switch as a door swich,,that will close the circuit only when the door opens,..then another to arm .it..guy opens the door and ZAP...120 volts through his keister!..YOU will have to remember to turn it off though BEFORE YOU get in the car..or yow will look like EINSTEIN havin a bad hair day..other solution grenade..pulls pin when door opens!..lol

14V alone woudn't be bad... That is why I added the cranking amps of that system to the equation. I have been zapped by a car battery on more than one occasion. Last time I got zapped I forgot to disconnect the battery when doing a starter. The electricity exited through my neck and I had an odd little blister. Point is someone should feel the pain As they are stealing stuff... Not later in jail... If they get caught!

They are repeats. Can you set a camera up . Most hand cameras have excellent zoom. Put that thing on a tripod. Its bad to get the guys but have them weasle out of it. Use your T.V. for a moniter.... I did this very thing. I didnt have to get out of bed when I heard somthing or seen the light come on. I just turn on the t.v. to verifiy all while it is being recorded. If you do miss something it will be on tape anyway. I think the tapes will go for 8 hours max. If you are interested send me a private messege for more detail and ideas. good luck

in the eighties we had a homeless guy break into our frat house. Well two brothers found this guy upstairs. needless to stay he was taped to a chair in the basements basement and beaten for about a day by 35 pissed off drunken frat guys then got turned into the cops. "we found him like this"

Sorry someone broke into your car.

If you didn't have comprehensive insurance what exactly did you want your ins co to do? "Work with you" to get it covered when you didn't pay for the coverage? Doesn't sound right to me.

Lots of ppl in Baton Rouge didn't have flood ins, now should the ins co work it out?!?

Gotta pay to play.

To get the point bluntly... I hate any peice of **** that thinks they have the right to steal! Get a ******* job and earn your ****! I got to work for my ****! I am a full time student. I am married. I have 3 kids and one on the way. I am the sole income for my family. I live in low income housing in the first place?! Why the **** would you expect the broke asses that live in the apartments to have valuables?! I want to beat the living **** out of whoever did it. I want to catch them in the act and make their life hell! What I meant about my insurance helping out was backdating my policy and having me pay the difference. Only reason I went with my insurance company was because my ex-boss recommended them because they helped him and his wife out with a similar situation. What sucks now is that I cannot add any insurance to my car until the damages are fixed. So my car is not driveable, I cannot buy the window, have to find time somehow to get it installed, and only after that can I add the coverage to cover my *** when some worthless piece of **** decides he needs some of my stuff again. Cars and the laundry room have been broken into so now I don't even feel safe having my stuff inside my apartment. Makes me worried for my family when I am not home with things like that happening in the neigboorhood.

im a fan of the "12 guage mossberg alarm system" and the "louisville slugger alarm system"...they seem to work pretty good when used in concert with the video camera.

well after calling around to different yards I have been unable to find anyone with a window at the moment. I was quoted $100 + from a Honda yard that they had removed or $145 for a new one installed. Time to bend over I guess...?

Don't worry though, I will come out to help **** in the open wounds with you! Then we can set him a flame with rotary exhaust gases!

All of this vigilante stuff sounds great, and I'm sure we've all felt this way, but a word to the wise....be careful. A close friend rigged his car with two 140dB sirens, on a delay, INSIDE the car. Thief broke in to steal the stereo and got the full blast warble tone....sued my friend for hearing damage and won. My friend had to pay medical bills and $70k compensation to this ******* who tried to steal his stereo. Only in America!
