Cool to Flash-to-Pass? or not to Flash-to-Pass?

hey everyone, i've been looking for some cheap flash-to-pass lenses but no success obviously

i was just gonna settle for a USDM pair but then i found J-spec lenses on eBay a while ago and those
are sweeeeet .. but damn the price on those things!

the previous owner for my 7 broke one of the studs and just zip-tied it on
they were cut to fit fog lights behind them and they've become very hazy
i pulled out the fog lights and plan to mount them to the front bumper

so i was wondering if it's smart to blow $70-$80 for a good pair of lenses...?
or do you think it looks better without the lenses?

When my FTP's started to look kinda shitty I just painted them black. Wanted something a little different, didn't care about the lenses or new ones. If you like the lenses get new ones, if you don't care then figure something else out.

This is what I did with mine:

I did it as an additional cold-air source for my intake, but it would look good regardless. I just cut out the front and back of the lens, bondo'd it to a nice radius, then painted it with touch-up paint in a rattle can.

yea i was thinking of doing something like that for another cold air duct
later when i get a cone filter installed.. never thought about modding my
FTP like that tho.. awesome stuff

Also... if ya just want to fix up your hazy lenses. Sand them with some 1000 then some 5000+ grit sandpaper. Then there is a few stores that sell some plastic polish and it will make them look good.

will that fix the haze even if the haze is from inside? remember the previous owner cut them to fit fog lights
behind, otherwise i'd go and do Blake's setup, who hasn't said anything about the driver's side FTP. Can we
get more pictures of the FTP's, Blake???

well i really appreciate everybody's input.. keep them comin'!!

If ya just crack them apart again and clean/polish them then seal them back up i dont see why not.

and then scroll to the very bottom.

I also just cheated and used some somewhat fine sandpaper on mine (3000 i think) and then just put some rain-x on it and it make it look kinda cool, but crystal clear would look better :p
