FINALLY replaced my powerplant frame
So as many of you know I've had a busted powerplant frame (ppf) on my FD. I've been working on trying to find a helping hand to reinforce it for me. Thank you woundup7 for volunteering your services and rotorette for the delicious zucchini bread. I really appreciate your help and hospitality last weekend. I took my delicate time getting the metal clean and ready for a coat of primer and a couple coats of black finish. Let it cure for a couple days and spent my day off today tearing down the underside of the car to remove the original ppf which was broken. A bit worse than I realized. I knew it was in 2 pieces but DAMN! was it broke! All in all a pretty easy swap out and have yet to test drive the car as I'm minus one wheel which I leant to a fellow FDer cuz I'm a nice guy. So after reading thru all this I will reward you with pictures! Yayyyy.
For those of you who don't know what the ppf is, it mounts to the tranny and diff to form a solid link between the two and act as the tranny mount for the FD.

Or for a nice Fee I can let you drive mine, which has the Mazdaspeed PPF, Mazdaspeed engine and diff bushings as well.

DAMM Tim that thing was really broke. Glad you got a free moment to put in the reinforced one. So do you think you will make it to Del Taco.?
Your welcome for the Zuchini bread and the cheap labor, I think it was a fair trade for the great beer you brought down.

haha I don't think you'll need to worry about it. It's not a common issue to deal with. Only reason I did it was to try and prevent it from breaking again. If this one breaks then there is something seriously wrong. Couple 3rd gen guys think I have have a broken motor mount that caused this to occur. I guess we'll see.

nice catch on the missed f Chris
