FD newbie in Bham

Just wanted to say hi. I recently purchased a 93' FD that needs a little love. I'm formally a DSM guy and I'm not sure why I didnt get one of these sooner. WHAT A CAR!!
When I have more time I will finish reading the FAQ's and what nots to give myself a more better understanding of the true potential of these cars. If anyone has any tips for the FNG here please bring it on.

Any of you guys up in bellingham want to maybe meet up and do a freeway run or 2? I will be up in bellingham to finish up some tuning on my hatch back and have always wanted to run an FD but havent gotten the chance yet The car makes 230-250ish at the front tires and weighs 2200lbs so should be a contender lol

What the **** are you people talking about?
Yeah I have the blue FD with the homo gay body kit(which is leaving soon). Who the hell drag races on the highway? There's enough accidents with all the hippies sliding their euro vans(and vanagons) into **** around here that we dont need more people doing stupid stuff. Hate to bash but I'm sick of sitting in stopped up traffic all the time.

IMO just be smart. Don't be like every other Honda owner that thinks the road is their race track. No need to go 120. 50-100 is enough. Be smart and it is not a problem.

Kudos to the Hippie comment that was hilarious!

IMO any speed in an FD is smart/safe as long as you know how to drive =) AT least any speed below 160 cuz that's the fastest I've been with no traffic (I-405 in Bothell) and 155 with traffic (I-5 in Fife).... IMO a good freeway race is 60 to 145mph

yea a good race on the freeway is like 60 - 120 or 130 I dont really care to go much over that since racing in 5th gear is a bad idea. Ever looked at your EGTs skyrocket full boost in 5th lol

I dont race in traffic though to much to go wrong to quick its just a bad idea. I am a great driver but all it takes is one person to try to "move out of your way" while your going around them.......... No matter how good of a driver you are cars still pull out of drive ways etc.

Going too much over the speed limit on public roads is pretty dumb no matter what because of other stupid drivers, terrible roads (ever try to drive through seattle with an FD/stiff suspension? omfg), and the fact that you are putting other peoples lives in your hands against their will...but with that said, Im a hipocrite

I agree that almost all drivers here in WA are idiots.... However, knowing the roads around the greater Puget Sound area from driving all over Western WA you learn where it is safe and where it is stupid.... You just have to be smart enough and confident enough to know when to drive fast.... Snohomish County avg freeway speed of 90 to 100, once you hit Downtown Seattle it's 120 to 135.... Just know how to not get caught and it's alright
