Eh, I am guessing they were probably trying to race......

People should know when to, and when not to drive quickly.

Personally I only drive fast when there is no one else around.

I was next door to the tow company when that car came in.
It was a S5 GTU, stock everything. N/A Hood
It was a guy that was driving home from college in Montana... traffic got all messed up on HWY 16 and he got trapped in the middle of it. Really unfortunate, because it was a really clean car.

That was my car I didn't post earler because I havent felt like reading the forum much. You'd have to be ******* retarted to "race" on HW-16 at 5:00pm. Traffic was really heavy and the cars in front of me came to a stop and I couldn't stop in time. The back of my car was FULL of stuff all of which came foward and broke both the seats. I ended up squished between the back of my seat the and seatbelt, it left I nice seatbelt rash accross my chest and I ended up with some really sore musles and a few bruses. The SUV in front of me had a hitch so that's what really messed up my car. I havent heard back from the insurance yet, but my guess is that the car is totaled. That was my one and only car, so I've been spending the past week trying to find something to replace it

edit: It was an 90 GTU in stock Harbor Blue, I got it back in 03 and it suppisidly had a new motor put in shortly before I got it. I hardly had 15,000 miles on it.

Just an update for those who care, yes the car was totaled, saddly I didn't get another RX-7. I always felt bad about putting my FC through Montana winters just sitting outside in a parking lot, and it was only a two week break, even finding another one I would trust to survive the cold would have been a lot of work. I ended up getting a Jimmy insted, it's nice but not nearly as much fun to drive

We did buy the car back from the insurance though, my brother wanted some stuff off of it for his FC. So if anyone is looking for some parts...

The interior is fine asside from the seats and there's nothing wrong with the back

You were lucky to have walked away with only sore muscles and some seatbelt rash. Glad you are okay! I know about RX7s in the winter, I lived in N. Idaho for two years and remember being stuck in my driveway after a snowplow created a berm I couldn't get enough traction to get over.

I just bought a 90 with blown apex seals but I don't think it needs anything other than an engine rebuild. I'm not positive, I have yet to sit in the car.

Again, my condolences over your loss.
