Question Eugene Oregon. Need help with some little things.

So, I put my location, Eugene, because I could really use some one on one help with my 84 GS. The Vacuum diagram makes no sense to me or my friends, and I know that I'm missing a least a couple tubes.
Soo, if you, or anyone you know lives in or around Eugene it would be really awesome if I could get some help and direction. I can DO just about anything, it's just that I don't know where to start at all. It's running now, but (what I was told by one person) is that it's sucking too much air in and killing the engine, I.E. throwing off the fuel/air mix balance.
I can get it started with starting fluid, and if I hold the clutch in it'll run forrrr maybe 15-20 seconds before it dies. If I rev it it'll stay running though.
I've only had it for 10 days, but I've sunken $300 into it already, and I'd like to get it running reliably and consistently.
I just put some carburetor cleaner in the tank. Any advise you can give me would be great. I don't have a way to get it to a mechanic as I just can't drive it anywhere. I replaced the battery and starter. So they're no longer an issue.
Eugene, Springfield, Veneta, any surrounding areas??

There is quite a bit of electrical issues also. The lights won't stay up, none of the gauges are working, and there are wiring harnesses just hanging all over the place...

Still looking for help...
There aren't a whole lot of RX7s around here that I know of.
If anyone has any connections please let me know!

Check the FSM (linked above) and try to find & fix anything that seems out of the ordinary. Download it and print it if you can.

Fuel, Air(and compression), and spark(and timing) is, generally, all an internal combustion engine needs to run.

Troubleshooting can be a bitch, but when you have that 'ah ha' moment things get better. Good luck!

Thanks for the advise guys!
Richard, I'll still have 'er in a week if you're ever willing to help me out! I'd sure appreciate it.
Someone told me it could be the apex seals (Here's to hoping I don't have to buy new ones)
Good idea on the spark plugs, I think there's even some extra ones in the compartments behind the seats.
I'm going to do a compression test as soon as I can too.

That would be awesome!
I've got tomorrow off, if you don't mind me having it for an afternoon I'd bring it back asap.
