Question: cops/drivers treat you worse in your sporty car over normal one?
So I'm curious, for me I noticed people treat me much worse on the highway when I'm in a sporty car versus a "normal" one. Plus I feel like I have to drive super careful or cops will single me out. I have noticed them following me a few times too even though I was the best dang driver on the road at that moment.
Just wondering if it's all in my head or if anyone else has had this same experience?
Since I'm an amazing film student I'm thinking I want to make a documentary about this, maybe finally proving, or disproving this theory. So if you have stories, share away! (I promise I won't use any names )

hmm true but what about other "normal" drivers? I swear I get cut off and treated worse by other drivers when I'm in my sporty car even though I'm being the model of road politeness. Could just be the drivers around here are more cranky then others lol
Also since I am going to make a video about this for school, how is this for an interview question list? Anything to add or edit?
Question list for sport drivers
Do you feel like, in general, you get treated worse on the road by others while driving your sporty car?
Do you notice cops paying special attention to you in your sport car over a normal one?
Do you drive the same way on the streets in both a “normal” car and sport one? (Talking about everyday driving here)
Let’s say everyone on the highway is going about 5 over, are you too afraid to keep pace with traffic because you know you will get singled out by cops?
Do you feel like you have to be extra polite on the road to avoid being treated poorly by other drivers?
Do you feel safer speeding in a “normal” car?
You think cops have a good reason for singling out sport cars?
Ever met anyone (not a cop) with a bad outlook against sporty car drivers?
Feel like you’ve gotten “ridiculous” tickets in a sport car that you normally wouldn’t have gotten in a normal car?
Have any story that’s relevant you want to share?
Question list for normal drivers
When you see a sporty car on the road, what are your first thoughts?
Do you automatically assume sport car drivers are reckless and impolite on the road?
Let’s say everyone on the highway is going about 5 over and there are a couple sporty looking cars around you. Do you feel safer with them around thinking cops will pull them over instead of you?
You think cops have a good reason for singling out sport cars? Or, if you think cops don’t single them out, should they?

I thought I was the only person who noticed this. I get cut off and treated worse in the 7 than my other 2 cars. It's like people don't want a small sports car going in front of them. They also tend to almost hit me more too. Idk how many times I've come close to people hitting the 7. Maybe it's just to small to see?

I honestly haven't really felt I had that problem, though now I think I'll be paying more attention to it.
The only time I really remember being pulled over was due to a tail light being out (was in the miata at the time)--cop pulled me over and preceded to ask me about my ethnicity and travelling plans (I think it was a lame attempt to hit on me). Needless to say I was let go without another word. Don't know how that would have been had I been in the 7.
It should be noted, however, that I generally steer clear of cops--hate driving with one behind me.

I've never had an issue with people in any of my cars. Only cars I've been pulled over regularly in were ones missing the front plate, which is reasonable IMHO. Haven't been pulled over in 2+ years though. If anything people would avoid my FC as it shot fire out the exhaust fairly often. However I always do dead on the speed limit, always in the right lane, etc.

Can one of you vert guys tell me why my California plated no exhaust having 7 never gets pulled when my top is down. Is there some sort of unspoken agreement with every cop?

Cops have never paid any attention to me even driving my 7 once I even drove with just a downpipe no exhaust in front of one before. When I drive the rx8 it's also the same I notice people will stare a lot but I never get treated rudly.

I think it all comes down to 'what time of day' ur driving and congested freeways ect. Peeps are in,a,rush,to,get, hme blah, blah, blah. Personally if someome ridn,my *** (in traffic) wen im in,ma lil grocery getter I warn them once then if no response they gna get brake checked wrks every time.

instead of break checking Jason, try just driving for miles and miles at a time with a turn signal on. People usually give you room cause they think your trying to turn, maybe this turn, no, the next turn for sure, all right third turn he will take, no he didn't take it. haha

All of the rx7s I have owned never got bad attention from cops........except for my 1st turbo fc which had apexi N-1 dual exhaust. Cops hated that HUGE exhaust and pulled me over once for aftermarket exhaust, no ticket. Although he did ask me if my car could pass emissions? Officer this is Thurston County........

Ha, I love that we don't have emissions testing. Funny thing is the local dealer here recommended a straight pipe for the 8, can they do that?
Well we don't have to worry about the celica anymore, that was definitely a cop-magnet. We traded it for a 2010 370z roadster Whoo first time being first owners of a car!
Oh and I'm in love the turn signal tactic, I'm so gonna use that! I know I hate it when people do it to me but it is effective
Cops always watch me if I'm in any car resembling sportiness. Perhaps it's the hot blonde girl effect? lol Seriously though even normal drivers are more aggressive when I'm in my 8. Or maybe it is because I'm blonde and girl, I could be suffering from the "Stupid blonde young woman driver in a sports" stereotype...Egads that's compounding several bad stereotypes into one!
Hadn't thought about that...

knock on wood.....I have a really loud exhaust on my 1st gen, got stopped by the local cop, before he could even ask for my papers his radio was going nuts as he walked up. Said your lucky day gotta go, ran to his car and left tires squeeling....woohoo, free pass.

When I first moved to this area one of the things that caught my attention was how polite the drivers were. If you were trying to change lanes on the freeway, they would actually give you room to do so. Now, 16 years later, it's the exact opposite...now they speed up to try to block you out. Another thing that really flames me is when there is a mile long string of traffic waiting at an off-ramp and people fly all the way to the front and expect you to just get out of the way for them. **** YOU *******, WAIT YOUR ******* TURN JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE! I've noticed this is worse on the east side (i.e. I-405 or SR520). The closer you get to Bellevue the worse it is.

its nice to know most of the cops in your area, and know the chiefs of the area too.
but even out of area, where i don't know the cops, i haven't really had trouble from cops. and my car is a fd straight pipe. very loud and noticeable
it also probably a depends on location, Ohio cops are probably nicer then cops in Cali or Florida
