These are better.
"This is our exclusive Heavy Duty Water Seal kit. We tested these seals for over 7 years in numerous street and track cars before offering them to our customers. They have proven to be a significant upgrade over the stock water seals. We use them in all our 5-year warranty motors. Also, these seals are re-usable if you need to reopen the motor to freshen it, as long as the mileage is not too high or the engine too overheated. In other words, if you make a mistake and blow up your engine or perhaps improperly clearance the seals or whatever, these seals can be removed, allowed to "rest" for about 30 minutes and be reused when you put the engine back together. Stock water seals must be disposed of when freshening an engine, even with just a couple heat cycles. Kit includes the water jacket o-rings, front cover o-ring (and backup washer, if needed), dowel o-rings, rear stationary gear o-ring and oil pedistal o-rings."
However, if you're refering to the outside water seals, then yes the stock ones aren't too bad. I was thinking of the combusion o-ring... I would stay away from the stock ones on those.

Yes, I probably came off as a dick. Anyways, I see that you're stationed at Ft. Lewis. I'm actually at McChord... I guess it's called Joint Base Lewis-McChord now. What rank are you and what do you do in the army?

Wow, I had no Idea there were so many forum members in the area! I have been bummed out ever since being stationed at Lewis because I am away from my TX rotary crew.

We just installed the differential and are about to do the final engine and trans mating to measure out the driveshaft.

Sorry I missed out... Work has to come first! Once I finish doing some maintenance on my dad's 944 I will be happy to help drop the engine in. Next week perhaps?
Say, where are the pictures?!

**** Jesus! You know I'm down to help anytime, but I'm dumping oil like a seive right now.
I don't think I can make that long a trip right now and I got no other wheels. I'll see what I can do though.

Well guys the day is fast approaching. Noxi and I have been working on it every night. If you want to lend a hand, you know where I'm at. Just PM me. I am looking to start the car up on Friday 9 July so if you want to see it let me know. It will be at Izzy's on Monday. And of course to celebrate the occasion the BBQ will be online. So I'll keep you all informed.
Thanks for all the help so far to Matt and Kevin.

It went pretty well. I did not get to start it but we are a thousand or so steps closer. tomorrow for sure. Work gets you cash! Of course it comes first.
All I have left to do is install the gauges, install battey tray and shutoff switch, wire the fuel pump relay, get a shorter alternator belt, oil filter pedestal and fabricate a throttle cable bracket. That's all about 2 hours of work... and oh yeah, top off all fluids. Very important or so I have been told.
