You don't have to take road side sobryity tests either. Since they're subjective an can be deemed degrading you have the option of the privacy of the blood test at the station. My again I have 2 uincles that are seattle cops and they both told me if ever in the situation to refuse road side tests and blowing. You're not required by law to do either. Pus the road side tests are designed to be failed. Just try them sober and you can barely do them. So a little bussed they're desigend to be a failproof failure.
thats bullshit that the tests are designed to fail one. I was just trying to be cooperative. why would they make a test to be failed with so much at stake for some people????
In one of his cases he got off because he had a metal stud in his tongue and that allegedly skews the results, so it was thrown out.

I never had a DUI, but I did take the "voluntary" sobriety test when I had my wreck last week. I figured since I wasn't anywhere near drunk (had only one beer an hour previously) it would work out OK, and in fact, I passed with no trouble at all. Had to stand there and the cop waved a pencil around and I had to follow it with my eyes while he shone a flashlight on me. It wasn't difficult at all except for the wind.
Why should you refuse to take the sobriety test? I figure if I *actually* am not drunk there's no sense refusing and annoying the cop, they go easier on you if you are extra cooperative, usually.

You made a mistake. The best advice that is offered is don't do it again. Don't ever believe that when you have been drinking that you are ok to drive.
I'm the type that will follow someone that I suspect may be driving intoxicated and dial 911. Remember the life you may be saving is the person that is DUI or the innocent ones that they crash into.
Remember you even have the pwoer to perform a Citizens arrest but be very carefull how you proceed if it came down to that.

I got Pulled over in my buddies Integera after he was too drunk to drive. Up in monroe I was STOPED at the light and the cop turned his lights on and I pulled into the gas station. It was like 2:00am and I had just droped him off at his house and I was driving his car back to my house.
So I had had 2 beers that night and I was mabe a little buzzed but totally fine. So he "smells" the alcohol in the car and is like I want to administer a field sobriety test. This is back in January so it is freezint cold and the wind is blowing which makes it totally worse as I try to stand on one foot and walk the line. After I pass all that he has me blow in the breathalizer and I blow a .058 So I was under the limit and he let me go. But I tell you that was the longest 30 min of my life. But I was so freaked out because that was the first time I had ever been pulled over. Long story short always have a DD becuase it is much better than ending up with a DUI
