Drift Fest Returns

Yes that's right everyone, back by popular demand. Drift Fest is returning to Evergreen Speedway, in Monroe, Washington. September 24th, 2005 we have decided to make things Bigger and Better. We will have more cars entered in the Car Show, professional drivers coming to demonstrate drifting at the level most of our local guys are trying to reach. We will have DJ OG ONE coming in to DJ for most of the night along with two musical groups to be announced later. Rain or Shine Umbrella girl contest. If all that wasn't enough we will have tons of stuff to raffle and give away, from shirts and hats to car care and car parts. Everyone come out and have a good time and leave knowing you got the best drift experience the NW has to offer.

For More information visit www.DRIFTFEST.com

Ticket Price:
$10 pre purchased
$20 at door
$15. With Flyer

about 7 hours

Fri
1st session will be about 8am-3pm
2nd session will be about 3pm-10pm

Sat.
1st session will be 8am - 3pm
2nd session(invite only) 3pm-10pm

We say about 7hours because it may take longer for some to pass inspection in the morning and of course the groups will need to be getting off track a couple minutes before 3pm as the new group comes on.

Zane, is there going to be a tire service on site to mount tires? Hopefully we won't get gouged, I'm thinking $15 per tire no balancing.

Just a thought.

I was working on this before the last Drift fest and Les schwab backed out. For the last wto months I have talkied with about a dozen places with Tire machines. Most want me to pay them for the money they would be losing not having machine on a saturday. (so guaging me) two have said they would come out but charge like $25 per tire. (guaging you guys) I have said no basically to everyone. I am working on a new deal with a shop that we split the cost of buying a new machine and i use it at all my events and charge drivers Nothing and he has to come operate it for free. In return he gets it at his shop all the rest of the year. He wants a real nice machine instead of a basic so we are both still kicking it around because its a lot of money to put out.

I guess what I would say is dont plan on a machine being at this event. If I can get one there I will. But I dont want anyone stuck with tires with No rims and No way to get to shop. Just in case we dont have one.

That hurts, 2 sessions on a Friday will eat alot of tires and if you have to have a wheel for every tire you use, that is alot of stuff to transport for a 2 session day. Keep trying, somebody has to be interested and willing. If you do get a machine for just Drift events don't do it for free, guy's will spend $10 per tire and that covers your cost for the operator.
Thanks for all your effort in this event Zane!!!!

If anyone knows any tire places and can get contact info I'm always willing to call any place. I will continue to work on it. I know, its going to be a problem I dont want people having to leave for an hour or more to get tires placed and miss out on track time.

I have one more place in Aunurn to try but I was told they are not open on saturdays. So I may only be able to get one there saturday. Again it is on the top of my list, well second. Have another issue at the top.

Drift Fest is working with NW Harvest to help hunger relief here in the NW. Anyone that brings in 2 items from the list below will receive $5 off gate admission. That means instead of $20 at the door you pay only $15 with two items from the list below. This offer is not good for those who purchase tickets in advance for $10 @ www.xpressentry.com

We will have donation boxes also available if you are not interested in attending this event but would just like to donate. After the event I am taking all contributions to the downtown wherehouse. Don't miss this opportunity to help out other NW families.

Northwest Harvest can use any non-perishable food or monetary donations. We do buy rice & beans in bulk, so we encourage you to donate other items.

General Food Items:
Pasta
Peanut Butter
Canned Fruits & Vegetables
Hot & Cold Cereal
Tuna Fish
Spices & Seasonings
Salad Oil

Whole Meals:
Spaghetti-O's
Stews
Meat & Gravy
Pork & Beans
Soup
Raisins, small boxes
Ramen Noodles

Infant and Baby Foods:
Baby Formula
Canned Milk
Powdered Milk
Jars of Baby Food
Infant Cereal

I know the charges suck, if I tried processing Credit cards myself I think the credit companies charge me like 5% plus monthly fee. So going through xpreess is the best option, its cheaper then Ticketmaster. If I do more events next year I will look into doing it myself, or negotiate a better deal with xpress.

See ya Sat. the 24th.

I was at the last driftfest and there was a pink camo 2nd gen that sounded like it was running straight pipes, loudest car I have ever heard. They have some rule like it can't exceed 100db. at 50 feet I think?

There are rules but they let us get away with a lot. The Fairgrounds, The City, Local businesses, especially the Speedway. were all very happy with us. We brought in revenue they usually only see from there Nascar days. (once a week) So they were really happy that we were very respectful, didnt cause problems, and everything went smoothly. As long as this happens they will continue to give us leanancy(sp) On Sundays (not an issue this time) a close church asks that we not start before 10am which we will respect at future events. Also Please do not show up to the event over an hour before roll IN. This makes it hard for me and also the track gets nervous with people hanging around. 20-30 minutes is the most you should be there before Roll In or gates open.

That was Angry Earl in his T2 converted second gen. That car has since take some ill fated drifts into stationary objects. The exhaust on that car was "open" to say the least.
