Drag strip visit. finally. Pacific Raceways
On 23 April there is a bracket racing day so I decided I will take my first gen up there and see how things go.
Over the next 2 nights I am making some last minute adjustments, so if you want to lend a hand. You know where I'm at.
Tech inspection starts at 0900 and racing starts at 10. Come on out and try yours out too.

My secret suspension set up is OEM axels (came in the car) and a TII diff, oem touring spring-strut combo in rear, stiff coilovers upfront. I promise these axels have 110k miles on them with 200+ passes. All 60 foots (5) last night were 1.36 to 1.44.
_________________just found this on the site, this maybe a lot of help in dialing the car my friend. I know this for strut car set up, but soft suspension in rear and stiff in front. This would help on the launch imo. Just a thought

WOW that was fun!!!
No great numbers to talk about but I definitely got it to show me its weaknesses. Tires spinning 125'...check. Wheel hop right side during burnout... check. Engine not smoking down track...check. Shredding double v-belt... check.
Overall I am very pleased with how the engine performed and at the end of the day I drove her home with a big smile on my face. I would like to thank all the great memebres of the northwest who have helped make this run possible.

A little bit a of tweaking and you'll be there. I'm guessing with that trap speed, you must have let off at some point in the pass? Also mildly curious, with the p-port at what rpm are you shifting? I noticed in the vid, you didn't shift to 4th. I've heard the running 3rd all the way out strategy before, and that is a good N/A strategy, but wouldn't the p-port be fast enough to require an additional shift?

Also how exactly do you have a TII diff? the TII diff is an 8" diff, where as the FB diff is a 7" unit. It doesn't fit.

GOTCHA... had no idea you were quoting something.

I agree with you on the additional shift. If you notice in the vid, the shifts took about .5 per. Lost about .2 on the 60' and there was some pretty severe wheel hop off the line. Plenty of time stolen away. The 4th gear is definitely in the cards but I have to find grip first. Once that is right then we'll tackle the next hurdle.

Nicely done Jesus! It's really tough to get traction out there.
Now you have a good baseline to measure your future mods and driving against and know what you need to work on. Drag racing is a lot harder than it looks.
We will probably do a couple Wednesday night events with the Volvo and/or Evo. Will let you know when we go out. Would love to hear your car on the line and see it run.
