YES! I am going to try and make this. I have never been to this place, is there anything I should know? If I was to show up for an hour, how many runs do you think I would get? How much is it to get in? How hard is their tech to pass? Anything I should really focus on fixing first? I need to get my battery box fixed in my rear compartment. :/

I'll be there. gates at 8 am, racing starts @10 am.
faster than 14.00 you need a helmet(snell 2000 approved), 13.50 a driveshaft loop, 13.00 a fire jacket, 11.50 a rollbar.
I doubt you'll get any... maybe one. there are lots of others that want to run too, and they stay all day to get 3-5 runs. sometimes they have an oil-down they have to clean up and they take time, a wreck occasionally too... things can get out of shape or break when you're pushing it hard and often do.
$30 + $10 for a number
not bad, but your car has to be safe according to the tech guy's standards some tracks are ****.
the battery box. it needs to be sealed and vented outside the passenger compartment. and since it's relocated, it should be tied in with 3/8 allthread to the frame. I'm going to be putting 3/8 allthread in on my stock location with a fab'd steel battery tray this winter.... even though the rules say stock stuff if OK in a stock location, some tech guys have said it needs changed since I'm going low 12's, and soon 11's.
beyond that, it's difficult to say without looking closer at your car. make sure you have no dripping leaks, catch cans for coolant, etc... since it's your first time, they'll probably be lenient and let you run if they think it's safe.

I have a 12 second car no problem... (Well I think so ... over t04s 13.5 psi no traction in 3rd kinda stuff) I don't have a fire jacket, nor do I know what a driveshaft loop is. O.o lol. Wow to me those times .. (14 seconds and such) seem extreamly over protected. Looks like I will be waiting till next year to get a time. :/THANK you for posting that information, it would have been a huge waste of time for me to go.
(just researched driveshaft loop .... interesting lol.)
a DS loop doesn't have to be complex, it only needs to meet the minimums. the part around the DS needs to be 2"x1/4" steel, mounting can be smaller, and more creative as necessary to fit... as long as it's mounted well enough to not fall off.
pics of my driveshaft loop, dead simple:

Tweak - how much horsepower do you have? Our old first gen was in the 13s with 300 rwhp at 2300 lbs. Are you on drag slicks?

)Were you not running slicks or something with that first gen? I don't claim to be a 1/4 mile master or anything but imagining it in my head, and using some simple 1/4 mile calculators... you should easily be in the 12s if not high 11s?
(simple rx7 1/4 mile calculator example : http://robrobinette.com/et.htm)
I'm sure it's a lot harder than those calculators make it out to be, (like in perfect conditions perfect traction, slicks and such) but ... yeah I'm really sure I would need a drive shaft loop, if not a fire jacket.

The FB ran low 13s on falken azenis. Pacific is a slippery track.
They didn't check for a driveshaft loop and I don't think it had one.
Conditions will be good for turbos on Sunday. We are hoping for high 13s out of the wagon.
The 1/4 mile calculator looks to be pretty generous.

they are usually fairly lenient the first time out, and if they notice something minor they'll tell you what you need to change. major stuff like battery tie downs (i.e. using a bungee) they'll boot you. play dumb & run it. if they have a real problem (running too fast w/ a roll bar) they'll call you to the tower.
I suggest picking up a rule book if you want to keep running there.

I have been drag racing at pacific for over 5 years and have never failed a tech. Battery secure, throttle return spring, coolant overflow can, decent tires, and the fuel line doesn't have to be ss only if it is ecesslivily long.
Tweak you had your car professionally tuned right.? Did you not use a dyno?

sounds fun, saving up for new tires and to replace my leaking oil cooler right now or I might be down.
the turbo fb lacks proper traction to get as fast a start as the numbers would make one expect.

alright, I'll be there sometime between 9 & 10, didn't have time to mount the slicks but they're in the car.... look for a white dodge/rust brown flatbed trailer/red 2nd gen.
hope to see you there.

I wouldn't worry about running to fast at Pacific. Like mentioned before it is slippery out of the stage and many people believe it is slightly uphill. Every person I have been with there runs slower than what conventional wisdom would say thier car is capable of, so I believe it as well. GO have fun and enjoy your car. If my Z wasen't getting the suspension swapped right now I would consider going out myself.
you didn't miss much, I only got 2 runs all day..... there were a crapload of cars. as usual tech was a mess(I didn't get teched until noon) and then an oildown, and a wreck for the track crew to burn time.
not sure if/when I'll go back to PR.
