do I need the side lights in OR

I'm planning on getting the Mazdaspeed GTC bumper maybe this summer, but I just realized that it doesn't have the running light things on the side. Would I have to put them on somewhere else to be street legal?

Side lights? If were thinking about the same lights, then no. All you need are your headlights, turning signal lights and tail lights as far as i know.

I'm talking about the ones on the side of the stock '93-'95 front bumper. On the new bumper that I want, they are meant to be on the fenders behind the front wheels.

wklink, I tried to read it, but didn't understand anything.

Me neither.

Pretty sad that you have to go to law school to figure out whether you can change something on your car.

The drift I got was that Oregon is following the Feds on this one. I am not sure that having side marker lights are mandatory but you may want to call the local DMV and double check. I know a lot of cars don't have working lights but that may mean the police are just cutting some slack, not that you can get away with not having them.
