Crossroads.

So I'm at this crossroads. I just picked up a FC I swore not to mod and it was going to be my daily driver until I could afford to build an engine for the FB right. Well I'm getting ancey knowing that there are all these parts sitting in my drive way that'll swap right onto the FC. So here's the predicament. Should I Save my pennies and build the **** out of the FB, or scrap it all togehter put everything on the FC and start a new with the FC.

Need a little more info on "the ultimate FB" to make that decision. What is the goal with the FB and how far away are you on it?

Why not daily drive the FC and build a FD instead? I love first gens but the aftermarket isn't that good.

Keep the FB and DD the FC. I like your FB and an N/A FC should make a decent DD car.

well, the problem im running into is cash. it is a lot to do all those great lil things to the fb, but they are little things. there are no coilovers that u can buy unless u swap suspension from the fc into the fb, when u do a TII swap u'll need to pretty much disassemble the TII and put on the frnt cover n oil pan of the -se. upgrade to better diff/rearend and all that shiz n u'll still have the lil problems that 22yr old cars have. i really wanna get an fc but its definatly 2nd to the fb, its a love for the old car u know? its the insane sportyness n racecar feel of the fb.

Fb currently has a S5/6 frankenstein streetport 13bt that has a spun bearing. Stock s5 turbo Blows through a weber with all the supporting fuel mods. MSD pump mallory FPR. First known MSD_DIS ignition setup. 3" turbo back exhaust. Name a bolt on and it's done to the FB. Eibach and tokico suspension. IMSA GTU front bumper. Basically it's a mid 200 whp car with everything done but it has a spun bearing and that basically means nothing from the block should be salvageable. I could hear a really bad loud knock the last time it ran. Rotor was hitting the housings. The FC is a stock 88 GXL with tokico shocks and springs... The goals for the FB were to put over 350 to the wheels top out at around 180 and run a 12 on street tires and 11's on my slicks. And being able to pull over 1 lateral g.

Wow you're wrong. there is just as big an aftermarket for a FB as there is a FC or FD, you just can't buy gay alteza lights and retarded OBX **** for a FB, so it's a true tuners car. There are at least 4 companies that make coilovers for an FB. RESpeed, Ground control, and Gforce engineering just to name a few. Just cause there aren't shitty aftermarket companies like APC, OBX, SSAC or any other of the likes making things for the FB as they do for FC's and FD's doesn't mean there is less of an aftermarket support for the FB. There is technically, but I'd rather have only quality well engineered and reserched and proven aftermarket than 90% of the market being overwhelmed with ching chong meow crap parts.

Wow, do you ever use the search bottom? Just like A train said, there are at least three companies making coil overs for an FB. Next your going to say you want to put on big brakes on your FB, buy no one makes a kit. Well here you go, big brakes, and coil overs on a FB, btw the I have a used coil over strut assembly sitting in my shop, if you want to buy one. End Rant Now
