I've been pulled over 4 times for loud exhaust.
Once by a shoreline officer, twice by kirkland and once by a redmond officer. . .he asked me what year my car was, i smiled and stated 85, good enough for him good enough for me. No tickets from that but still a pain.

Cops for me for the most part have been totally backwards, last night(this morning 2am) me and a diesel played off a light. . . i basically pulled an adrian, lit em up and pulled on the diesel. Didnt speed just got to 40 real fast. Cop pulled both of us over and after a while let us go with a "keep it to the track and not the street, drive safe have a good morning" very true.
But i was pulled over, didnt recieve insurance from new company yet, obviously sited. Didnt get any notification and was told by the redmond officer above that i was up for a suspended license. long story short after going to 3 different courthouses and to court twice wasting about 7 hours of time (thats where the money is going nowadays!) it was dismissed.

point being i get stickled for little stuff like no insurance but if i light them up through an intersection while smoking a diesel truck(heavy mods. . .) its all good. WTF Right? to be clear im not complaining about that.
