let me guess. it had or had a front dented fender on the drivers side, walmart racing pedals, chrome side trim (or did have) and the center steering wheel cover is missing the leather??? if so, i bought this GTU's from some guy awhile back sold it to some skinny white guy with black hair yes yes??

ohhh!! and the drivers side mirror has black paint around the edges cause it was blue and i sprayed it black without covering the mirror (oops)!

So in order to end the bitching and hopefully stop someone fron reading this in the future and thinking it's fact. The GTUs wasn't any lighter than the run of the mil pig of a FC. The reason it was quicker than other FC na's was because it had a 4.3 rearend. all other FC's had 4.1's (except the 88 vert that had a 3.909) The GTUs also had a shorter 5th gear (.756) than the other na cars which were .697 or .711 That is why the GTUs was quicker hardly as uick or fast as a T2. It was no more powerfull or lighter than a base FC

That's the way to revive a dead topic, this one died amost a month ago.
By the way, you are incorrect on your statement "all othe FC's had 4.1". I believe all the auto FC's had the 3.909.

i will agree with 50% of this, the gearing was different. but the fact of the matter is the gtu-s was only slightly lighter, im not sayin it was 500lbs less or anything. manual windows do cut down on weight!

Hey now im the owner of this car. The gtu's is one nice car to drive handles real good and cruzing is smooth and fun.
Someone needs to do a seach on the web and find out facts why the gtus is so rare and specs ext.
