lolol curfew? ouch.. doesn't the ticket all depend on how fast you were going, and if you were swerving through traffic n' stuff? inono.. i went to a king county municipal court once. just north of uw i think.. for overdue tabs (which i had on a different set of license plates in my car....) n' it wasn't really a bad experience. it'll probably depend on the judge? btw gluck. n' ditto on what boboy said.

Actually I don't think you can do that anymore, they got wise to that. Get a good lawyer, that's what I do, especially when it involves reckless driving or street racing.

Note: haven't gotten a street racing ticket yet, but a few 100+ mph speeding tickets.

Good luck

Tough lesson. There's a lot if street racing up here. Big thing is knowing where, when and who to race. I am much older and hang with the muscle car guys, cops leave us alone since we do our business in a safe area and without a crowd. The kids however pick narrow streets hidden in an industrial area where any tired night shift employee could pull out of a parking lot with 2 cars coming at 90mph. Other thing with the kids is they are about 3 feet from the car and lined up along the curb. Cops are well aware and that is why youth rarely gets a break............................

Never EVER have I seen kids line the streets to watch a race Fast and Furious style. They all park in a lot near the street in the industrial area and watch from their cars. That's IF it's even organized, usually someone will challenge you and wanna do freeway pulls... I used to go when I was younger but would rarely ever race, I heard there were fast cars, but I never saw a single car that would have run faster than a 14 second 1/4. But, there is one group of guys who race up north and they all have 12 second or faster cars... Those guys are NOT stupid punk kids. most of em are older and wiser.

the question is.... where did you get the ticket? if it was in Kent, SORRY. just unlawfull race attendance is the same punishment as a DWI. and it's not a traffic ticket either. its a criminal offence. best advice is save some money and get a lawyer. probably cost you about 1500 to fight it . good luck.

yeah location is very important, I know that it is almost impossible to get tickets off in Bellevue/renton/kent/kirklaand.

Best chance is either get a lawyer (1500 at least) or take the ticket and learn a lesson.

The kids park and group all along the side of the road. If someone really quick were to launch and go sideways someone could easily get hurt. When I ran at the track I broke my left rear lower control arm going tot he rear end and she pulled hard to the right. I never run on the street in a crowd. The older gang here (40+) have a lot of fast stuff, 11 sec and quicker. Some come in from out of town to challenge one guys old dart running a 440 + 250 nos. These guys never run in front of a crown of kids at all. Some say go the the track. Been ther, tried that. Wait an hour for tech, get your car scrutinzed by unmotivated staff, then wait in a line to race whoever they pick to go against you. After forking out 30 bucks you might get 4-5 runs in a 3 hour night.

That's with most lower level organized racing, except trackdays, you get 4 to 5 15-25 minutes of track time with a 30-50 minute break period in between. Good stuff, worth the money in my opinion.

I'd get a lawyer. Do searches on here for "who's a good lawyer" threads. There's lots of 'em. I used Felix Landau in Bellevue to get me off my last ticket a couple years ago. I think it cost me about $300 but I don't know if it's a sliding fee for different types of tickets. It's a dog eat dog world out there... don't let the cops win.

my friend and i got a ticket for speed raceing when we wher doing touge. we fought it on that fact that we werent raceing just driveing the road at the top of the speed limit and takeing the turns faster then the sugested speed which isnt illeagle. but at no time we wher side by side and and we saw the cops pull onto the road behind us so we had time to slow it down and distance ourselfs. and we got the ticket droped. but if you wher drag racing side by side... ya your pretty well screwed.

Your complaining about $30.00? ****, if $30.00 will keep me from killing some innocent person Im more than willing to throw that down. Anybody who street races is selfish and ignorant, and thats all there is to it. There are facilities to do it safely, yet people refuse to use them for one reason or another. **** isnt illegal for no reason, its because its caused many deaths.

He's got a point though, it's not likelyhood street racing or murdering for that matter will ever stop. Doesn't make it right, but it's a simple fact of life.

hold up ur only 17 and got a deferral ? When you get a deferral it does not go off of your record, unless you have no more tickets in a 3 yr period then it goes off ur record. And your only allowed 1 every 3yrs.

Bottom line is treat this like a DUI and get a lawyer.

You gotta watch out. It use to be that the cops would cut you some slack, but they are even cracking down on the old timers racing.

If I were you, I would lawer up, and be looking for any way to commute the ticket if you think it's going to stick. Did he catch you in the middle of a race, or how did he know you were racing?

There use to be good racing around Salem, but now that the cops are using IM instead of radios and working in groups to trap people leaving the races, it's kind of dead. All the fast cars stopped racing because they don't want to lose their cars, and the only ones left are the "wannabe" fast cars. Back in the day my 13 second cars were the slowest things around, and it wasn't uncommon for there to be 8 and 9 second mustangs and novas showing up.... now it's all civics and neons being stupid.

Up north is where it is at. Don't come to watch. Only come if you are going to race. We don't mess around, we just race. If you want to watch races and talk about some day having a fast car then go to Kent.
