Look closely at the auction. thats for one seal only. you need 6 so thats like 900 for the seals. not counting the price of the rebuild. so total your looking at around 3500 for the short block, with no instalation, no new water pump, etc.

Hey Z... I will bring it to Izzy's, or bring it next time I see you.
specs for the Uber motor:
Series 6
Dowel pinned
3mm 2-piece RX-7 Specialties Apex seals (dual spring I believe also)
Sold corner seals
New housings (lapped)
Clearanced
Ceramic coated rotors
Porting (not specific, but said primary ports were like 50% larger than secondary and that the exhaust ports were kept pretty much stock size but blended)
oil passage mods (mathing and possibly made larger?)
MFR high pressure oil regulator + shimmed relief valve
hardened oil pump
Viton o-rings
teflon coated coolant o-rings
Probably some other things they don't mention
In the issue following the build they did the dyno tune of the engine
The FD it was put in was using a Wolf3d V4 standalone and it put 435HP to the wheels @ 15-15.5 PSI.
If you got the time and money Wally than why not buy a set of the 2mm 2-piece apex seals and build an absolute BEAST. LOL... Right?!
My personal plans for when I (read if I) am ever able to build my own:
4-port 13b
streetport
2mm atkin's or RA seals with solid corner seals & OEM springs
probably go with whatever soft seals atkins sells and use OEM seals the rest of the way
Turbo'd? Megasquirt?... Who knows.
Keep us posted of your plans. Good luck! Hopefully you will have mostly reuseable parts from your current motor. (Fingers crossed!)

Thanks rmriggin for the help, I might just use one or a couple of those options. I talked to Ddub about a rebuild. Personally i dont want to put any pressure on him, but i want to save some money. He also lives a couple miles away from me which helps. I'll keep my fingers crossed for any available space that he has.
I don't plan on rebuilding any time soon though. My $$$$ is a bit low right now.
